Keep Pounding

If he keeps doing what he is doing, and I have know reason to elieve that he won't, then $7 million per year just is not gonna cut it. Gman can't fake the funk by making it appear he is going deep into his pockets because his shorts are so high, Gman is gonna have to dig a little deeper in those nipple shorts.

Well, if you're going to drop a lot of money, I believe CB is a position you would.  QB/LT/CB/elite pass rusher seem to be the big four.

I know you can't have every position be a priority but I've always thought of the middle line theory as true as well. QB, C, DT, MLB or S are the guys most important to a team. Some teams get away with their S being more important than their MLB or vice versa. It depends. But, like baseball, that middle line is the beginning of everything.

But as far as pay goes (which certainly is reflection of importance), here's a list of what they were roughly this year:

http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2015/2/16/7989009/nfl-franchise-tag-2015-values-ndamukong-suh-dez-bryant

Quarterbacks: $18.51 million
Defensive ends: $14.78 million

Linebackers: $13.17 million

Cornerbacks: $13.05 million

Offensive linemen: $12.93 million (strangely I didn't see anywhere quickly where G or C is differentiated from OT)

Wide receivers: $12.80 million

Running backs: $10.93 million
Defensive tackle: $11.17 million
Safeties: $9.60 million

Tight ends: $8.33 million
Kickers/Punters: $4.12 million

because for the franchise tag, all OL are lumped together.  that's why you almost never see an OL except a LT franchise tagged

And all LB's as well, so pass rushing 3-4 OLBs skew that LB figure.  Luke, the best and highest paid MLB (or 4-3 LB at all, as far as I know) is paid something like $11-12mil a year, so the real order of financial value goes QB, pass rushers, LTs, CBs, WRs, non pass rusher LBs, and so on.

In other words, it's all centered on the passing game: passers, pass rushers, pass protectors, pass defenders, pass catchers.

    • The hell happened to our Te's...I gigured Evans would get a biggercroke coming off the bye week? Sanders?? He might need to put that weight back on. He's been about as underwhelming as Wonnum. And Tremble looks nothing like he used to btw.  Xavier in the top 5? Nah...Moton in the top 5? Pretty sure I saw him getting beat multiple times 3rd/4th qtr.
    • I agree 100%.  Just to add, ANYONE that wants to sign BY to some 300+ million nightmare/contract, they can kick rocks first.  Like you said, brad adds nothing. This is war, just bring in a bright forward thinking OC that's going to come up with new plays and ........a fing game plan to beat a 1-8 or 3-10 team...... challenge the defense to defend every blade of grass and evolve this team.... By my eyes Dave is just another Ron Fox wilks 4.2 with his only success being if the score is low and able to run enough...(minus one game.) fug that, thats another big issue, Im just sick of the coach hires, its too many since Rhule.  Dave has earned the right to stay, but.......If Dave doesn't want his pilates lover to go be a video assistant for underdawg or whatever betting site that gives him a salary. Peace out bro....
    • If it were that simple, Reich and Canales would have already done it. The next HC would have the same happen. If Canales is gone, I wouldn't be surprised if Tepper elevates Evero to keep him around with Bryce, Tremble and Chuba as agreed upon long term offensive pieces. I believe Reich and Canales would have gone different directions at QB and DC if they were allowed. Wilks even made it known this organization doesn't make the HC the primary partner in personnel decisions. Before the HC even gets a chance it likely goes Nicole > David > Dan > Brandt > Eric > Benjamin 1 > Benjamin 2 > HC I highly doubt hanging the HC wouldn't fix all the problems over his head.
