Rivera presser: Jared Allen injured, on Delaire, Shaq, bye week schedule

I just want him to not over pursue and just totally absolutely bury Russell Wilson

of course I could say that about the entire defense

I see the reasoning here, but would not mind them sending Delaire full bore as long as they schemed some back up.  He is so damn quick and violent to the close that he could be the perfect "anti-Wilson" prescription.

I was surprised to hear about the positives from Shaq. I expect ups and downs from rookies and for me it was his worst game. I saw several missed tackles and he didn't cover his gap on a few runs. I still think he did great in coverage.

Now I want to preface this all by saying I am happy with the pick and he has been great for us as a rookie. Just some constructive criticism.

Good presser and something I picked up on that I liked was Ron talking about the process of getting Delaire...that gives me a hell of a lot more confidence in the structure of our organization now...so much better than when Hurney was here...looks like we could expect more good pickups along the way as long as our GM/Front Office stays this sharp.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
