Funny wife vs Panthers game story

Thought I'd share then ask if anyone of you have similar stories.

During the Panthers vs Bucs game last week my wife decided to start telling me about a new book she wants to read. I was trying to listen but the Bucs were driving and making me mad. Our defense stopped them and the Bucs went for a field goal which they missed. Of course I then cheered and laughed at the stupid Bucs and that's when my wife got mad and threw a fit at me for not listening. We got in a little argument which I tried to explain that she couldn't possibly expect anything different while I'm watching a game. I think she did think about it and realized that.

But on a lighter side she did stand up and cheer when Norman took that pick-six to the endzone. lol

My wife yelled at me during the last couple minutes of the Jax game....  Something about not helping her with bringing the groceries in as the last few minutes ticked away.

I belive she realized at that moment that she had lost her husband for the next few Sunday's.  She muttered something about being a football widow.

She's super stoked about this weekend as it's our Bye week and Thanksgiving here in Canada.  She wasn't excited to hear that I still want to watch the Seattle game.  I told her it was for scouting purposes.

We went to the beach for our first anniversary during the Jax game. I had to keep running from the beach to the bar, watch a couple drives then run back. The things we husbands do.

I get the Panthers and Michigan State. Even so, there are times when she will come into the room, stand there and wait for me to acknowledge her. She won't interrupt, but she hates being ignored. She even tries different forms of dress, or undress to get my attention. Nowadays, with the pause button, I can give here the attention she desires.

And there are even times where she will sit down and try to interject herself into the game. Then minutes later she will bring up the real reason she is there. She is so cute I can't help it.

    • Appreciate you, brother!  I know it was lengthy, but I felt whoever actually read it would appreciate it.
    • Damn good take, brother.  I think I take that poo personally because (sidebar: I don’t like to use narcissist often because social media has made it a buzzword and diluted the meaning, so when I use it, I don’t take it lightly) I grew up in a home with a raging narcissist, then married a narcissist and just came out of a divorce after a 20 year marriage with her, where afterwards she met and married another narcissist.🤣  And in my dealings with them, over my 41 years on this earth, at times I took great delight in breaking down their arguments point by point and forcing them to either acknowledge their wrongs and take ownership of them or watch them yammer and stammer away when they ran out of lies and excuses.  At various points, that was extremely satisfying, but ultimately, which I’ve realized especially after the last 3 years and going through the divorce and everything, it does NOTHING to them.  It doesn’t affect them one way or another.  For a logical, reasonable, grounded person, you would think calling them in their poo will bring it to their attention when they’re face when nothing but facts and truth and force them to change, but nope.  Not in the slightest.  They just disassociate from the ones who do that and find more people who will validate their behaviors and thinking.  poo pisses me off because they’re so destructive and couldn’t care less so long as their needs are met.
