So Halo 5 comes out a week from now on October 27th.  And I'm very excited even preordered the Limited Xbox one that came out today, it even included a digital copy of the game!!!!

Now, I bought the Halo Limited edition xbox one because, 1. I need a xbox one.  And 2. you got access to Halo 5 a week earlier.

So apparently access means you can download, but not play the game, I have a game on my xbox one's HDD right now that I'd love to play but cant for a week. fug you microsoft!!!!!!!!!

Once things settle down in my life, I look forward to getting into it.  The story sounds really interesting, and I hope to see more development of the forerunner story in the middle of the Storm Covenant/UNSC/Master Chief conflict.

Haters gonna hate, but I will always have a soft spot for Halo games =)

I'm starting to think that the appeal of Halo is just kind of fading as there are more and more sci-fi action shooters.  Me?  I'm all for Halo!  I can't wait to get paid and get it!   I love the universe, as I read most of the novels.  So I'm invested, and as long as the story is relatively decent, and warzone is fun, I'll be fine.  I'm seeing from the interwebs that I won't be completely impressed, but I will still enjoy it.  That's enough for me!

Anywhere I can just read the story? Sorry guys, I love the story but I no longer have hours to invest.

campaign takes like 4 hours to complete.

pretty big disappointment. you can tell they just poo this game out for the $$$. i'm afraid halo has taken the same path as CoD.

They need better writers but games rarely have above average writing. Look at The Arkham series as an example. The ending was a big "meh" but it was still fun. Then there's the Assassin's Creed franchise. So much wasted potential.

The game that looks like so much fun but the programming staff decided you can't skip their stupid cut scenes? You would think I was programming it's such a dick move.

So to review, beat the game and about 15h into multiplayer.

single player campaign:. Some cool spots, story isn't as advertised and the game ends right as it starts to get interesting.  I beat it in one sitting in about 5 hours.  Very disappointing

multiplayer war zone: very few maps, gameplay is unbalanced as a Mofo, some guns are just better then others and if you don't have them you're screwed. I have a rare AR that is more powerful then some  BR's.  And there is a BR out here that's better then almost any other default weapon you can get.

Arena, not as unbalanced but you die too easily, and the charge ability is more annoying the helpful and adds to the unbalance of the game.

Again extreme lack of variety.

IMHO  -  I understand the need to keep a game fresh, but this is a step back in the wrong direction from halo 4 which in my opinion was the best of the halos to date.

7/10. Will hold me over till Star Wars comes out. But will probably stop playing after that.  Too many balance issues with the multiplayer.

    • Either way there's some tough teams on the schedule this year, on paper anyways.
    • Same. I would prefer a MNF game earlier in the season. As if more likely has some significance in case things go south this season. If we perform well enough we could even get another game forced to a Sunday night spot later in the season.
    • Wanted to jump into this thread. Although I do not post anymore I do look in as there are a few old friends around. Loved hearing some of the names you mentioned.  Another  oldie is NanceUSMC.  He is the one who got me here from the old Observer forum.  Good guy and smart football guy. I have learned a lot from a lot of good Huddlers over the years, Over time. we have sadly lost a few who left this earth too soon.  Anyone who know of someone, it would be nice to try to make a list.  One of the more recent, CosmoGirl,  was someone that kind of hit hard.  Life sucks sometimes. Some of the best times were when we had our own tailgate and could meet up in person.  I think it made us better. Several dedicated volunteers, lead by LiverMush, started setting things up in the wee hours of each gameday morning.  Don't know all those regulars but I remember JakeFlake was one.  For you newbies...each game,  a Huddler (or a group) sponsored the food for each tailgate.  Eating was free but a donation was asked for.  At the end of the year those donations were used to buy bicycles for Toys for Tots.  Over the years Huddlers bought a lot of new bikes for kids for Christmas.  (I am guessing a couple of hundred each year.)  We had a good time getting together, got to make friends in person, and then got to feel like you were doing something good. It was truly a community. I got to meet Dan Morgan at one of our tailgates...he brought pizza from his restaurant.  How many of you remember that?  Glad the restaurant did not make it....lol. Not only have people changed, and come and gone.....but the entire nature and purpose has changed. Nothing lasts forever and we move on but we still like to think about good times. Same reason we take pictures. Want to ask a question I have not seen anyone else mention......who remembers    "The Couch" ?  We have argued, laughed, lived the ups and downs of football and dealt with a little real life along the way.  A thanks to  the Mods who keep this going.  I am sure they sacrifice a lot of their time out of love for the forum and the Panthers. Take care my friends and be well.  I will close with my new favorite quote which I think is greatly needed in these difficult times.
