Game in Mexico City

I sincerely hope they do do it in Estadio Azteca.  Azteca has been one of the best stadiums in the world. I can't Imagine they have huge issues with their locker rooms and other stuff. But these things can be addressed. They played in Azteca before I think the Niners and Cards. They didn't have an issue. We will see.

They also didn't stream the game in 2005 like they do the ones in London this year. Can reach hundreds of millions more people around the world on the web than over broadcast channels. And sideline and helmet communications will be very important since the crowds won't know when to cheer or be quiet. During soccer matches the crowd is always making noise, so they'll do that during the game.

oh so another Seattle game?  Think they got it covered man. You'd be surprised at the different crowds. Don't underestimate them.

I think it would be awesome.

I've worked in Mexico City many times, many trips, 5 weeks being the shortest. Very cool place if you don't handle yourself as a "naive Murican"

I've watched many NFL games drinking tequila listening to the telecast in Spanish. It's obviously not the number one sport but it is growing. A lot of Dophins and Texans fans.... some Cowboys fans and strangely a decent number of Panthers fans I've encountered.

I liked the place so much I brought my wife down to go with me to watch a real Lucha Libre at the Mexico City Arena. (Epic btw and yes I bought masks)

If we can get the Riot there the only things I will advise is:

1) No open container - that's a big   no-no that could land you in jail.

2) Don't be drunk on or near the Angel of Independence Statue

3) Don't have an open container and be drunk on the Angel of Independence Statue.

You will have to talk your way out of that big time..... So I'm told :)

Teams with PSL holders won't lose home games. Plenty of teams that still don't make their fans buy PSLs and the ones that don't sell out their stadiums are the top choices. The Bucs owners are seriously considering sharing the Bucs franchise with a second city and only playing 6 games in Tampa permanently. And between the Rams, Chargers, and Raiders competing for 2 spots in L.A., the loser there could be considered for a permanent move to London.

I remember something where they wanted every team to give up one home game over a certain period of time.  With several teams doing it voluntarily, has this idea bee scraped?

Other options have appeared. One is sharing an NFL team between two cities. Precedent is what Buffalo has done before with Toronto hosting a Bills home game. The Bucs want to permanently play 2 of their home games in a similar set-up with a sister city. San Antonio was a leading contender until the L.A. market heated up and 3 teams emerged that want to fill the 2 open spots there. The Bucs could want to play some games in a city that loses their team to L.A. Fly in the ointment is the Bucs also want a new stadium in Tampa, and the city doesn't want to build it if the Bucs won't play 8 games there every year.

Another option: outright relocation to London is becoming more viable. NFL has done studies and held talks with the UK and EU about labor laws, contracts, taxes, revenue sharing, government control of sectors of society, having a London team play some games in Berlin or Amsterdam or Rome, etc. The Europeans are much more socialist than the States, so many more hoops to jump thru and the NFL has to maintain a certain profit level from this endeavor or the NFL won't do it.

Jags are more than willing to play 2 of their games overseas and the Bucs may not be too far behind. Glazers owning Manchester United leads to a natural tie-in if the stadium situation in Tampa shakes out that way. L.A. has become the lynchpin that will determine how the dominos fall with overseas play, tho. A team snubbed by L.A. could renew it's lease with it's current city that's not selling out the stadium for a smaller number of years and less money in exchange for getting to be the home team for packed stadiums overseas a couple times a year. Jags and Bucs could each take 1 or 2 games to fill up a 4 or 6 foreign game slate.

They'll talk about a lot of this in next league meeting.
