If we trade for, or pay big bucks in the offseason for, too many guys who "still flash" we might make it to the Super Bowl. And then we'd flash. Some of those old dawgs are going to be worn out, some are going to act like they made it happen and demand the big contracts. Some will just go on to the next highest bidder.

Let's work with what we've got, it seems to be doing quite nicely. Build a team for a decade, not just for this season.

Who said we'd pay big bucks to Boldin who is a free agent after this season?  I'm pretty sure everyone understands it's a ONE year rental.   Giving up a 6th or 7th pick is worth it, I wouldn't do much more though.

I agree we need to trade for someone at WR to make a legit SB run, and Boldin would be a great fit. 

Not sure about his contract... wouldn't want to put ourselves in a cap situation next year for the sake of getting him since we need to extend both Norman AND Short.
