Luck Castle starts to crumble

Longtime Indianapolis columnist Bob Kravitz wrote today that the Colts’ biggest problem is this: “Andrew Luck has stunk.”

Kravitz is right about that. Luck’s play has declined significantly from last year, when he looked like he was developing into the star quarterback the Colts thought he’d be when they chose him with the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft: Luck is completing just 56.2 percent of his passes and averaging just 6.7 yards per pass. Luck has thrown nine interceptions, third-most in the NFL, but only 11 touchdown passes (ninth in the NFL) and 1,398 yards (23rd in the NFL). Luck’s passer rating of 76.2 is even lower than his rookie year.

Meanwhile, the ancient Matt Hasselbeck started two games in place of Luck and got better results: Hasselbeck has a passer rating of 95.0 and the Colts went 2-0 in his two starts, albeit against the lowly Jaguars and Texans. When Luck has started five games and the Colts only won one of them, while Hasselbeck has started two games and the Colts won both of them, it doesn’t bolster the case that Luck is a budding superstar.

OMG I remember how much I got blasted on this other Panthers site when I said not only did I want us to draft Cam but I would have still drafted him even if Luck was avaliable, I got bashed into oblivion.

I will never forget the moment, before the draft, Cam made a workout video of him throwing various passes and something just stood out to me about his overall poise and presence that sealed it for me. Oh how I wish I was a member of the huddle before we drafted Cam lol

If that's the case then he's been injured for 4 years now. Nothing about Luck has changed. Only difference is they're not getting those lucky wins at the last minute.

I really don't agree with this. I get the Luck hate here but something isn't right with him. Maybe it's physical maybe it's a top down affect he is suffering from. The organization is going through some rough poo right now and it's possibly a combination of both.

When Rodney said that I laughed because it was the first I heard of a should injury or whatever he has affecting judgement.

I think Luck is a good QB, just not the second coming.  So it is enjoyable to see those who prop him up search for excuses.

Even when the dude has time he still makes wtf throws.  Followed by a beautiful deep ball that somehow washes the blackboard clean.

I have to be careful with my hate because I am fully aware that he and the colts are capable of pulling the upset.

to be fair being injured could make you make throws you think you could make...but alas because of injury can't. Resulting in said Wtf throws. Also Cams stats aren't a ton better.

its always way more complicated and I really think the organizational atmosphere has an affect. We are tight. They are divided. No chemistry. It matters.

So sick of hearing about Luck. I called him the next Ryan Leaf when I found out he wasn't entering the draft because we were picking first.

"I'm thrilled that Luvk's staying in school because I don't want to draft the next Ryan Leaf."

Now I know that's a bit extreme, because luck has had success, but I'm thrilled we have the best athlete as our team leader.

Luck has been given every excuse in the book. I don't feel sorry for him or Wilson. Cam played through multiple injuries and behind a sh*t line also, but you didn't hear the media bring that up when Cam and the team was struggling. Luck is just a glorified Matthew Stafford TBH.
