Bannergate part 2: One of the Panthers must have read Harper Lee's new book

Oh this is too funny!!

In August, I read Harper Lee's "new" book "Go Set A Watchman" - the sequel to the famous classic To Kill a Mockingbird... My review is mixed, but the best scene by far involves falsies.

In that book, Scout (now in her 20's) reminisces about a dance she went to in high school.  She was wearing falsies to fill out her dress.   At some point in the evening, they slipped. and to save her embarrassment, her date pulled them out and flung them away.   However they landed in an embarrasing spot - dangling from a billboard praising those serving our country in the armed forces.

The principal goes on the rampage, demanding a confession as to who would do such a dastardly deed.

EVERY GIRL IN THE SCHOOL CONFESSES....

I'm pretty sure we must have a literature lover on the Panthers, because the Panthers are following Harper Lee's script:

Sorry bud for telling you to rip that banner down yesterday! Didn't realize people would have a problem! @CameronNewton

Never knew peer pressure had such a big influence on @CameronNewton sorry for telling you to take the sign down! #PantherCountry

It's my fault, I'm the one that told @CameronNewton to take down the Packers banner. I told him #JustDoit

H/T to Joe Person who re-tweeted Ryan Kalil and got my attention with this tweet:

United front. #bannerguygate

Yup.  Our team is UNITED.

Yeah, Spartacus is the better analogy.

Probably true.  I'd heard about Spartacus and that confession but not seen it...

I think the reason I associated Harper Lee's book with the Panthers is that it came out mid-summer and I was reading it during the first week of training camp...  So, it came to mind this a.m. when I started seeing all these confessions!

Not to be that guy, but Watchmen was not a sequel it was actually a first/rough draft of Mockingbird.

Many in the literary world were very upset by the advertising of the book as a sequel.  Most asked for refunds.

Point is still valid OP, just wanted to be a dick for a second.  I feel better now.  Carry on.
