Does being undefeated make you more nervous?

I'm of two minds. I want us to win every single game we play and I would love nothing more than to be the only team in history to go 19-0. Go 19-0 and you can rub every other obnoxious fan base's faces in the mud about that, that's something no one else has done.

However...does THIS team deserve to be known as the only team to go 19-0 in history? Are the 2015 Carolina Panthers the best team in the history of football? Of course they're not and a part of me realizes just how weird and off that would be.

The only game I'll be extra nervous about losing is the nationally televised game against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving games are huge to say the least. For my family, as well as many others, it's part of the holiday tradition.  I want turkey, mash potatoes and a victory... please and thank you.

Hadn't thought about the 19-0 thing as "best ever", which would be very cool. I will be at the Bucs game, so and undefeated season would be cool to see in person. (I live in Richmond so getting to games is a once or twice a year thing). Was hoping to see NFCCG if it goes down in Charlotte, but at the prices they're fetching already on Stubhub, that won't be happening.

Nothing in this life is prefect. A loss will come...just the yin/yang of life. No worries about that.

They dont have to be perfect to be undefeated. The 72 Dolphins were undefeated and they had weaknesses. Its possible to out yin the yang.

Now do I think it will happen? Nah. But I didnt think we'd be 9-0 either.

Basically "one game at a time".

That's the approach players and coaches always prefer.

Basically, but as a fan, I get the luxury of looking ahead.  I want to win Sunday, as always, but my main focus is on Dallas, and embarrassing them at home on Thanksgiving.  Luckily, I don't believe the team is thinking about Dallas yet.

not nervous, but frustrated if we lose because then all of the talking heads in the media will post on how our true colors showed because we lost a game, thus dropping any credibility we apparently have in contentions of being a 'for real' team and continue to get crapped on with the media.

I should be use to it by now but it still bothers me.

My wife has commented several times that this season Im more relaxed during the games than any season she can remember - and that woman has a memory like an elephant.

My nerves at this point are over being blown out.  As long as we are in every game Im pretty chill at this point.

Rivera has generally done a good job of keeping the team focused on the task at hand and not letting them look ahead.

The 85 Bears got steamrolled by the Dolphins in their only loss that year.

I remember hoping the Dolphins would make the Super Bowl that year so we could see a rematch of that game, but they didn't hold up their end of the bargain and instead we all watched the Patriots get spanked like a red-headed stepchild.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
