The nation wants to see more Panthers.      I'd think the 4:25 time slot will offer a much, much larger coverage area than the 1pm time slot.

We don't want our new nationwide fan base to have to skip church to worship at the alter of the Carolina Panthers.

I expect the Panthers Bucs game to be flexed too. I see them sneakily getting the last wild card spot.

I see them starting to build something with a young offense. They can definitely sneak into a wildcard game this year. I see them beatin atl in 2 weeks and riding an easy schedule all the way in. GB/Min most likely have 1 wilcard spot, and seattle has a tougher schedule than the bucs...and we all know the falcunts lose at least 2 games down the stretch.

I don't really understand the reason for doing this. Fox already has NE at PHI in that time slot which will generate a huge audience. Seems like having them back to back is a better move for ratings.

Who would want to watch this game? Sure, NE has a huuuge fan-base, but Philly is just horrid.

probably has more to do with the time change between NO and the NY time difference.

Slightly  off topic.  Week 16 there is no late game on CBS.  Is there a reason for that?  I am not sure how the rules work for cross channel flexing but could that be an option?

Week 13 flexed to 4
Week 14 flexed to 8
Week 15 Bucs (my local market) are on Thursday so our Giants game will likely be the 1pm game
Week 16 flexed to 4 on CBS (if possible)
Week 17 play the Bucs, will be on local

In that dream scenario I would not have to go spend absurd money at the bar the rest of the way!

I bet we'll see the New York Giants game flexed as well. Fox would probably love to have the Gmen and the Panthers before a national 4 p.m. audience.

Just thinking

According to a Giants beat reporter, that game was protected by Fox before the season so SNF is not an option and CBS has the national 4 PM game that week so it can't be flexed to 4 PM unless it switches networks which Fox won't allow. Fox will probably make it as national as possible for a 1 PM game like what happened with the Packers game but that game is going to stay at 1 PM. I suppose there is a very remote possibility Fox gives up its protection of the game with pressure from the NFL, but I would be shocked if that happened.

Both Falcons game are really the only options for flexed games for us for the rest of the season but they need to stop their skid and really turn it around for that to happen. Week 17 SNF will be a division deciding game, likely the AFC South or NFC East, which won't happen with us so that's out unless all divisions and playoff spots are already decided and we are 15-0.

Week 17 schedule makes it difficult to find a winner take all.  Giants-Philly, Wsh-Dallas, Indy-Tenn, Hou-Jax.  If either division is up for grabs then both games will likely matter so the NFL will want them on at the same time.

NFC West and South will be decided as well as AFC East and West and likely North (even if Pitt and Cincy are fighting it out, they do not play each other either).  The only real chance for one is Minnesota-Green Bay.

Should that division be decided too then an undefeated Carolina or New England would be the best option.  Of course if the Bucs are in the playoff hunt our game will be the same time as whoever they are battling.  New England's opponent (Miami) poses no such threat.

Good points on all.
