Disrespect - You mean Dynasty!

If you're looking for the disrespect, you're going to find it, but don't be blind to the respect we are getting.

Michael Irvin (ugh... wish it was someone else) just put on record that not only are we the Super Bowl favorites in his mind, but the Carolina Panthers are on the verge of a Dynasty. This is the first I've heard a media member say this. I'll get video up as soon as I can find it.

Way way too premature to be tossing the word dynasty around.

He didn't say we will be. He said we're on the verge of being a dynasty. And I would agree with him. Gettleman is building a great team with Rivera.. These guys are working in perfect harmony. It can happen. But we need to win our first Super Bowl first. It's hard not to be excited when looking at the future of this franchise for the first time since the mid 00's, and even that team had an older core of players at some of the most important positions.

I'm more excited about this team than I ever have been.

Oh, don't misunderstand me. I am as exited as you are about our future. Can we obtain that status? Damn right we can. Will we? No one knows. But that's a long way off in terms of discussion in my opinion in regards to a dynasty.

When I think of dynasties I think of teams like The Lakers of the 80's, Chicago Bulls, NY Yankees, the Bosyon Celtics, even the Steelers of 30 years ago.

I look forward to that potential.

It's incredibly difficult to build and maintain a dynasty in today's NFL. Luckily we have a sure-fire Franchise QB to help facilitate continued success which is absolutely the most important piece along with continuity with other key players/coaches/philosophy and building through the draft. I'd say the Panthers have a bright future.

    • when we drafted Bryce Young that team might have been more talented than the team we currently have ?  that was the whole reasoning behind morgagting  our immediate future to trade up to #1 overall for BY. our front offices & owners felt like hey guess what the time is now to srike while the iron is hot go hire an All Star coaching staff we were only a Qb away from taking that next step ..just saying
    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
