For those saying we don't get respect...

In many ways you are right, but we can't ignore the love either.

Here is a quick Peter King video that echos what many of us think.

Heck, this is the first year that I have actually enjoyed First Take.

When I have seen people predict that we will lose a game, their main reason revolves more around the low probability of a team going 16-0 than us lacking talent.

There will always be haters (ESPECIALY since we are becoming perennial juggernauts) but don't miss the opportunity to bask in all the love and crow eating that is going on this season. It is glorious.

King is saying what I have been saying all along which is that this offense is scoring on everyone with arguably the worse group of receivers in the league to start the season. But look at them play hard each week. Cam is playing at an MVP level and making everyone better. The coaches are all doing a great job getting backups ready to play while improving everyone's skill level particularly the starters. Everyone working together so that the combined end product far outweighs what you would expect based on an evaluation of the individual parts.

I don't know why folks on here still criticize any of the players or coaches when this offense is the highest scoring in our franchise history. As King said, anyone who doesn't think that the Panthers are great in all phases of the game (which includes coaching), just aren't smart.

At the beginning of the season, which aspect would have you more surprised?

That the Panthers are 13-0

or

That the Panthers lead the league in scoring offense at 31.6 per game?  And avg 30.8 On the Road?

All the media is watching OBJ vs. J'No when they should be watching this offense against the worst defense in the league.

But despite the overwhelming matchup wins, a good number of experts say this is the week.  King is a convert (for now) but if you watch closely you know he will flip to the seahawks or cards just as quickly as this conversion came about should the upset happen.

DG's and RR's "best 11 rather than 11 best" mindset is amazing to see blossom before our eyes.

I gotta say though I don't think our WR core is the worst in the game. It might seem like that but the guys we have all have something they can bring to the table.

Ginn is a pretty incredible deep threat, Funchess is a talented rookie in development, Brown has speed and is a good route runner. Cotchery is a veteran safety valve for Cam. Definitely not the best in the game but this group coupled with Olsen is at least formidable. They are at least proving to be good enough for Cam. He is definitely elevating everyone's game.

I'll give King credit though. He atleast ate crow and moved on from his prior Panthers hate...while some downplay our success to lessen the blow of us obliterating their preseason predictions.

Like King or not, he is well respected around the league, and I'm glad he sees this team for who they are. Better late than never.

I gotta disagree. Which offense at the beginning of the season had worse personnel than the 2015 Panthers if you remove the QB?

IMO NFC: The Rams and The Eagles (but that is only because Chip Kelly intentionally threw away talent in order to fit his scheme), Seahawks? (Graham and Lynch but their oline was one of the worst ever), Saints?

IMO AFC: Patriots? (but they have Gronk), Chiefs? (probably not, Maclin and Johnson), Titans, Browns, Ravens?

By my count Rams, Titans, and Browns have talent at or below the Panthers.

Seahawks, Patriots, Chiefs, Ravens, Saints are debatable.

The Eagles are in a special category.

The other teams wouldn't even think of trading offensive talent for ours, IMO.

The Panthers might have the highest scoring offense in the NFL, but the Panthers defense has a big part in that, routinely giving the offense great field position.

True, but the last 2 seasons the offense didn't capitalize off what the defense gave them

    • The Bucs waived shilo sanders after he got ejected.
    • I'm just tired of ppl saying he's so accurate and then have to see recievers slow down to recieve the ball, ruining any chance at YAC
    • Some people will really look at stuff like this and say "no more excuses" but then make excuses to try and explain away the validity of big-time throws. 🙃   Back on topic though, as I mentioned in the other AT thread earlier, I hope that the team is still exploring the deal. If the Vikings want the Panthers to take on some of the salary, then it had better be at worst a 4th-round pick (though I imagine Dan angling for a 3rd). If they're willing to take on all of it, then maybe at worst a 5th. Tough pill to swallow, giving up a 4th for a 35yr old WR, but if MIN believes they can have similar success behind McCarthy then it could be a smart deal for them. Hell, if AT has any gas in the tank and gives them a 1yr sweetheart deal to close out at home, even better for Minnesota. Yea, Bryce loses his best and most reliable WR. Hunter Renfrow though isn't what I would call a huge step down though (if he's as advertised throughout camp), and it gives more reps to TMac + XL + Coker. This season is all about continued development and answering some of the looming questions (Is Bryce the guy? Is Evero the DC going fwd? How do the young WRs develop? How long does it take this defense to bounce back from being historically awful?).
