No sorry probably wasn't clear. I was saying Shula could possibly get a HC gig as well as McDermott, thus leaving the vacancy for Proehl. My bad.

That being said, he makes too much sense there given his past and his name couldn't be any hotter than it is right now. There are deficiencies to our defense that we know about, but the top teams usually get poached, and again, the Philly connection is too logical.  

I'd feel very confident in Wilks taking over the helm.  I'm a huge McD fan, but Wilks and Rivera will keep this defense afloat.  Throw in a 1st round DE/SS and/or a top flight FA at either position as well, and this defense should hopefully not skip a beat.

 

Their OL isn't that bad. They just need to improve the interior (guards) which could be addressed draft or FA. It sucks they're stuck with those linebackers (due to their contracts). I thought Jenkins and Thurmond played well earlier in the season.

Derp has done an admiral job here, but his defenses have not been elite and are very porous at times. I wouldn't worry if he leaves as I believe Wilks would do a great job with this d

I haven't really gotten the impression that too many are worried,  more so just find it interesting to speculate and discuss.
