If it was up to 95% of the Huddlers Ron would have been gone years ago...

And rightfully so at the time. LOL

Luckily, JR offered him advice, and people to talk to.

Rivera took it. And of course he improved.

Makes you wonder, how/why the hell Hurney and JR would allow someone with no prior Head Coaching experience to build a staff with no former NFL Head coaches.

Coaches tend to be allowed full control of their staffs. They could have given suggestions, but to be fair Hurney wasn't exactly the most experienced GM either.

Yeah. I got you. But it was a crazy hiring from the get go, when you really think of it.

A coach with no head coaching experience whatsoever. Hired by a non NFL-Football GM, who many folks had their doubts about.

That was just a crazy combination. And something you rarely see in the NFL (especially with Talents such as Cam and Luke on the team by late 2012, early 2013).

So there was good reason to think, "the inmates were running the asylum".

But Lucky for Rivera; the team, and panther fans; it all succeeded. LOL

JR's patience won out!

Ron Rivera can still make me scratch my head at times. I think he has built a good culture and a good scheme. Still we've seen our top flight defense look completely outmatched against the best. What good does that do us in the playoffs?

Hopefully we see that change this year.

Bill Belichick let the opposing team have the ball first in overtime.

Nobody's perfect.
