Unspectacular 40 time for Philly Brown?  Uh he ran a 4.3 I believe.

In any case, Brown may never be at Baldwins level simply because of the competition next year. KB coming back. Funchess rising. Olsen still here, Ginn, Hill coming back as well. Pecking order. If we draft another wr too.. He will need to work his ass off and more importantly catch the ball.

He CLAIMS to be a 4.3 guy.  He ran a 4.51.

I'm honestly okay with the receiving corps we will have once KB comes back. If a stud receiver falls to us, and is better than any other talent on the board at our pick, then sure why not. But to target receiving talent? Nah. If Gman targets any position, and he probably wont, it's gonna be DL and OL.

Speaking of that, anyone know how this year's draft is looking for trench talent? @Mr. Scot?

My favorite first round option right now is Clemson DE Kevin Dodd.

I disagree fully, Baldwin is doing everything he can to become a complete reciever, working hard and getting extra advice from HOFer Largent. I don't doubt brown's work ethic but it would take a hell of a offseason for him to get on baldwins level. Golden Tate is still however the best recover they've had in recent years IMO but Baldwin is doing a great job filling that role and surpassing it

They play nothing alike.  Baldwin plays more akin to a Steve Smith type, albeit no where close to as good as prime Steve Smith... but if you had to compare him to a small receiver, that's the type of mold he's in.

Brown is like a homeless man's Desean Jackson at the moment.

You all know what it is like to have a slot receiver who plays with a lot of passion (SS89).

Eh, Steve could kick ass from the slot (and would've been the perfect slot receiver) but it's kind of an insult to him to label him as a slot receiver.  We never really had the luxury of using him that way due to our lack of talent at the other WR spots.  Dude was a legit #1 WR who lined up and made his money on the outside while moving into the slot once in a while.  He was just a different kind of beast in his prime.

He'd line up outside and regularly beat the opposing team's best corner.  He'd go outside and consistently beat double coverage and the occasional triple coverage.  If you didn't at least double cover prime Smitty, you were just begging for him to put up 200+ and 2+ TDs.  Hell, you guys triple covered him like every snap in our 2005 NFCCG.

He could've put up some absolutely retarded numbers over his career if he had consistent QB play.

For a second. I thought that Igo was off his rocker.  But I can see what he's trying to do (if I squint).

Baldwin has better hands,  is more physical,  has triple the confidence,  and flat out plays smarter.

Now I am not saying that Philly cannot get there,  but I ain't betting my money on it.  Igo's? Sure!

@Jeremy Igo probably should have said Brown could develop into our Baldwin,  or "I wish/hope that Brown turns into our version of Baldwin."

I thought by pointing out that comparisons should be made on their first two seasons only that smart people could figure that out.

I can see why you are struggling with it. Maybe stick to BR?

Baldwin a lot more physical, blocks better, plays bigger than his size; while Philly can get behind the defense more.

Baldwin probably a better player than Philly will be in time

Agree. I just watched the NFL Films summary of the Seahawks Vikings game last week. Baldwin made a 1 handed catch on that game winning drive that Philly only makes in his dreams.

But he didn't make those in his first two seasons. That is the point.
