Another Hot take:

" So, I've seen quite a few articles on how the Panthers utterly dominated the entire game today. Looking strictly at the numbers, other than the two turnovers (resulting in 14 Panther points), the Seahawks were actually the dominate team today. Converted more 1st downs, less penalty yards, way more passing yards, an almost 75% completion rate for Wilson, etc, etc...take away the turnovers, and it's an entirely different game, with a drastically different outcome. "

So that's where Alice went.  He became a Seahawks fan.

I agree with everything except the 2012 game...

Atlanta got up 20-0 at the half... in typical fashion went to prevent move and were down 28-27 with 30 seconds to go... then the Seattle D went into prevent and allowed 2 completions by Ryan... the latter to Tony G putting us in FG range for the 30-28 win.

Wilson's pick didn't really affect that game.

It wasn't so much about the effect just pointing out He threw one in that big game to help with the pattern

The thing about NFL fans is that they're a self righteous bunch. There's squibbling going on between Packers and Cardinals fans right now over the events of Last night's game. Bengals fans (and players) are toasting to the Steelers' elimination today. And Giants fans don't care who wins the Super Bowl as long as it's not Carolina. The NFL is a high stakes sport where all the glory is reserved for but one spot and hearts are broken every single week, especially in January, so it's not surprising that at this point Seahawks fans are coming up with every excuse about this loss like:

1. The field

2. That they had to play at 10AM Pacific Time

3. That their mother forgot to iron their lucky shirt so they could wear it today

and anything else they can pull out of their asses

This is actually true re: the stats.  The stats we "won" were turnovers & time of possession.  They were the key.

But hey, we led the league in turnovers, that's who we are, and a huge part of our 16-1 record.  1 turnover was a pick 6 = 7 points, and that happens to be the margin we won by.

So sorry, but the only stat that matters in the end is the final score.

I'm highly convinced if we wouldn't have went conservative game would have been over long before the 4th, we have done it all season, even games that we have had a big lead, we just turn it on offensively and get a score, the one game it didn't happen we lost. It's not a good thing to do,lead majority of the game while letting an opponent catch up then go down with ease and score to win, but if we have to i have trust in the coaching staff and cam

Actually, a stat comparison in a game like this is pure fool's gold. Look at every game that is at some point in the game a blowout, and you'll see the losing team winning the "total yards" and "passing yards" stats. That's because the team on top is trying to run out the clock, while the team playing from behind is throwing almost every down. The stats that seem to be the best determinant of actually winning the game are rushing yards, turnover margin, and time of possession. Don't believe me? Look it up yourself.
