Where Are They Now? 2003 Panthers

I went home for lunch and saw that our 2003 Super Bowl was being replayed.  With the recent comments from some on the 2003 team that the 2015 team would beat them, and the thread from GRWatcher I began to wonder where some of the players and coaches are now.

In addition, I know a few ex Panthers like Jordan Gross and DeShaun Foster are going to be in Santa Clara and we have seen Moose on our sideline and Brentson Buckner last week on the wrong sideline.  So I googled a few of them and these interested me.  If anyone has any more info on them or would like to add another player/coach from that team chime in!

Todd Sauerbrun.  I found a good article here on his successes and failures.  I always liked the dude and his hustle but pretty negative article here.  Putting him down as our very own  "whereabouts unknown" ......  aka Bluto.

Rod Smart, found out he is a counselor in Charlotte today from this article.  Always thought he was a great contributor to Special Teams and I like how this article reveals he "thought about" renaming himself in the NFL like he had in the XFL with "He Hate Me" but realized that in XFL he was #2 rusher but in NFL he had a different role.  Said he was Ocho Cinco before Ocho Cinco was cool.

Jeff Mitchell was the subject of the earlier thread.  He still lives in Charlotte and thinks it is going to be a "boring" SB because the Panthers will jump on them early and often.  Here is the article from earlier thread and here is another good article from Baltimore media.

Mike Minter is head coach at Campbell University in Buies Creek NC and a good Twitter  follow.

Moose is or was a broadcaster. Not sure if he is still doing it, but he won an Emmy. Which would have to make him the only Carolina Panther player to play in a Super Bowl and win an Emmy award.

Moose owns Buffalo Wild Wings uptown as well as real estate here in Charlotte iirc

I'll be wearing my #30 Minter Super Bowl XXXVIII jersey tomorrow.

edit: looking at that photo he looks like he might could still give it a go

Minter was such a hard hitter he had a knot on his forehead for years. Glad to see it's gone now. There was no better than #30. I still have his jersey too

Dante Wesley was a guy I followed because he always came to ILM with the preseason caravan and again, I like special teams players.  Here is a 2014 article about domestic violence and it seems he is shelling a book.

of course, he'll always be remembered for this bone-head play
