Peyton already won a SB, The Broncos won a SB, isn't that enough?

Panthers hasn't won a SB, been to 1 in their NFL existence and lost that game. What about that story? Is that not good enough? They said Cam is young and still has time, what? No, the SB is hard to get to and isn't guaranteed to win. What about the other guys on the Panthers, the old guys that hasn't won a ring? What about the people on the staff that hasn't won that contributed hard to this season? What about Jerry? Do they still have time? Wtf get that bullshit outta here

Panthers may be the favorite, but the fact is the Panthers has been written off and disrespected this year a lot, way more than the Broncos so we still remain the underdog. The Panthers carried that all year, but this game they need to carry it like no other time this season

It's totally true. the wall street journal wrote a huge piece on how fans should be rooting for Peyton.

Sure, tons of people would like Manning to go out a winner, especially after getting crushed by the Seahawks two years ago. Manning's a likable guy. 

OTOH the Panthers are the Cinderella team, coming out of nowhere with all kinds of heroes besides Cam and Luke, and having fun doing it. We're a unique kind of team and lots of people who aren't Panther fans are pulling for us to win.

I don't buy that the entire "NFL, NFL Media, And Fans of the NFL" are all pulling for Denver, but if the team can still use that perceived lack of respect as a motivating factor, I'll join in and shout 'nobody wants you to win but us Panther fans!'

I've always loved Manning. If he was playing against any other team in the Superbowl, I'd be rooting for him. 

So I definitely understand the perspective. 

Unfortunately for all those with that perspective, they will be very disappointed. 

I'm alright with that.

I hate that theory of Cam is young and he will have plenty of chances. People said that to Marino his rookie year after he lost in Super Bowl. He never had another chance. I do worry about biased officiating in this game as well.

No doubt majority of fans outside Panther Nation will at least have a sentimental rooting for Manning.  Panthers were smart to practice with noise this week.  I hope Ron and team use it as fuel.

Not sure why the NFL would want Peyton to win since he is retiring either way. It makes for more drama if the Panthers go into next season and the foreseeable future as the polarizing team to beat, with the beloved/hated Cam Newton leading them. Just like they love the attention that the Patriots and Brady bring to the league. And, I heard yesterday that one fan poll had the majority pulling for Cam slightly more that Manning. 

But, if the disrespect card is what motivates this team, I hope everyone but us pulls for the Broncos and picks them to win (though I know that is unlikely at this point).

From an investment standpoint it's better to build the brand of Cam Newton than to burnish Peyton's already stellar legacy.
