Panther Fans Will Get Their Team Back Now

So now all the hype is gone, the vast majority of people cannot remember who lost the Super Bowl a year later, Carolina's weaknesses were exposed and, as expected, Cam is getting blasted in the media again.

The bandwagon is emptying, the part time fans are leaving and the draft is three and a half months away. Carolina Panther fans who have been around for a couple decades will have their team back now. As of late last night, the Carolina Panthers are just another NFL football team quickly forgotten in the aftermath of the game and Peyton Manning's soon-to-be-announced retirement. They will once again be that small-market team with a lifetime W-L record of around .500 with a mercurial and moody QB who happens to be black (but that's not the reason he is treated differently than his peers by the press), a pretty damn good defense and a relatively small following of loyal fans.

The Panthers lost the game, but Panther fans got their team back- the team that got hijacked about 12 weeks ago when someone noticed they were winning.

A lot of our false starts yesterday were because it was literally a Denver home game  yesterday. Numerous times they even played the Bronco sneering which I found to be very odd. We were WAY outnumbered in that stadium yesterday and it was a sad sight to see

Agreed, that was a quasi-home game for the Broncos.  A lot of the false starts were caused by our O-line having their lunch handed to them though.

don't worry, they'll be back and you all should hope they are.

they show up win a team is winning. it's 100% guaranteed to happen.

if it is happening, then that means things are going incredibly well. it's a sign we should all be hoping for.

and it's also the way long term fans are made. we all started out as bandwagon fans (unless you are one of the few generational fans). most bandwagon fans will leave, but like i've said many times before, there will be some that get hooked. we picked up a lot when we went went to the superbowl before. we picked up more when we drafted cam. and we'll pick up more after this season, despite the loss.

i will say it was a whole lot nicer having more people cheering for us and giving us positive attention, even if it was/is going to be short lived.

Can yall get off of the 'cam is treated bad because he is black" bullshit?

The media gave him the MVP... quit crying about stupid poo.

I didn't say he was treated "badly." I said he was treated differently. And I'll stop making that point as soon as you can legitimately explain why you think he isn't treated differently.

    • I'm looking at the schedule and I see a 10+win season easy.  I think Carolina goes undefeated in the division.  I also believe that the Bears, Bengals, Lions, Browns, Steelers are very winnable.  Revenge game with phillips and the eagles could be a win.  Honestly only 2 games I see as chalking up a L to off the bat is the Seahawks and Broncos.
    • I guess so. Don't think I was involved with previous discussions.  Tepper is one of the newest owners in the NFL. Dan is going into his 3rd season as a GM - ever. Dave is going into his 3rd season as a HC - ever. Before becoming a HC, he was an OC/playcaller for one season total. Idzik is about to go into his 1st year as a play caller - ever. WRs are rookies, sophomores and 3rd year guys - though the experienced 3rd year guys are XL and Coker (who has missed a ton of games). TEs are guys going into their 2nd and 3rd seasons, and Tommy Tremble - though Sanders has missed a ton of games. QB has played 3 years. Chuba is an experienced RB, but Brooks and Etienne have taken very little snaps at the position. O-line is more experienced vets with some talent - which is HUGE. Need them to stay healthy. I mean the offense is very young in every aspect except O-line. You see it differently?
