He was one of the top ranked DT's overall and against the run with Miami. It's why he got the big deal (5 years 32 million) from Atlanta two years ago. Excellent signing if his price has lowered considerably.

I'd like to see this happen. Takes snaps away from Star on run plays that wear Star down later in the game, which then wears down Kawann, which leads to the defense getting gashed in the 4th quarter.

Should help keep Star's feet and legs healthier, plus we need to see more of Star pass-rushing if we want to see if he should be paid as much as Kawann, who was drafted a round after Star.

He is a big mean son of a bitch. Thought he would have been big for Atlanta.. but no one was. Monster for Miami the year before.. was constantly coming up the gut to the QB. Wouldnt mind at all if he accepted not starting and brought the balls to Carolina

Wouldn't be a bad signing, but I'm guessing Gettleman wants him on a deal that would be easy to cut in training camp because I have no doubt they are bringing in some young players on the D-Line this offseason.

That's a good way to look at it. When I first read the news, I wasn't a fan of it. I figured just like ATL, he wouldn't fit in CAR's system since CAR defense need to get the QB more.
