Yeah I'm completely sold. Made the mistake of reading the comments section on Facebook after watching it, hoping I would see a lot of geek love on there....

and of course it was full of people trashing the movie because it has a strong female lead character. Arguing that since Rey was the lead in TFA, having two movies back to back with female leads was too much.

Ugh, my bad for reading the Facebook comments section to begin with. I think this has the chance to be a very good SW flick, and I love the fact that we are finally stepping away from the Skywalker/Solo family for a bit. I hope this movie is a bit darker, a bit grittier, and full of kick ass non-Force using heroes.

And for those who have a problem with a strong female lead, my 4 year old daughter (who is now obsessed with Rey) would like to have a few words with you :P

But are we really stepping away from the Skywalker family? Hmmmm

I agree, there is a lot of comfort in the old school designs. It takes us back to our childhood. Of course, the toy makers are going to exploit the poo out of that this coming Christmas. I'm sure I'm going to be shelling out over $200 for a new AT-AT for my .....um.....daughter. That's right, it's a toy for my little girl (Barbie popup camper be damned)

I honestly hope there isn't a single mention of the name Skywalker or Solo in this movie. SW is large enough now to be able to stand on it's own without those two names being involved.

The Expanded Universe fan in me though REALLY hopes that Kyle Katarn will swoop in with his Bryar pistol and save the day. He is the Chuck Norris of the "Legends" universe.

I am so excited as well!  Looks so amazing, visually.  They are having fun making the films.  A little bit of melodrama is perfectly acceptable in the Star Wars universe!

I don't read many comments because most people are stupid.  "I don't like female leads" person probably has a hard drive full of celeb nudes....

    • Bryce has been in the NFL 3 years and still looks like a very mediocre QB. Most games are nothing but mediocre plays with a highlight reel every now and then.  He is a very INCONSISTENT QB and it’s very fustrating. He does not deserve a 5th year option, even though the Panthers and all the dumb asses in the front office will give it to him.
    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
