Try being a Sooners fan.  First the College Football Playoff ass raping, then the Panthers completely poo the bed, then my Sooners lose in the Final Four and get their asses handed to them.

Nah. Those losing seasons, or those one and done in the playoffs, those leave a lasting feeling of disappointment.

SB50 was the Peyton Manning Career Achievement Award night and nothing was going to change that. The refs were working it, the announcers were and apparently Lady Luck herself was wearing a Broncos jersey that night. It sucked but I shrugged it off in a week or so and looked back on what had been a danged magical season.

Now, I'm just looking forward to 2016. There's a chance for us to improve over last year, just two more wins and we'd do it.

Definitely still stings. Im excited for the future though, i dont think theres a team in the league with as much upside as ours over the next decade... We will win our superbowl soon.

I'm largely numb to it now.

Burying myself in offseason stuff like free agency and the draft helps.

You know why it doesn't sting for me anymore?  Because we have one of the best GMs in football, we still have the same team for the most part, and we're getting back weapons that we missed last year.  The future is looking good!

I can't speak about that team as much because I was a STL Rams then, but no one outside of Carolina saw them coming and that SB was competitive. No shame in losing to that Patriots team. This one, however,  will linger forever. Much like how the '85 World Series still lingers with me and other Cardinal fans who are old enough to remember it.

It still breaks my heart when I think about that game, but then I remember Cameron Jerrell Newton's message to Panthers fans after the loss: "We'll be back."

Panthers lose the SB.
Heels lose in devastating fashion.
Canes look like they are about to make a push for the playoffs, then have a bad week in the worst month of the season to have a bad week.

Most difficult sports loss of my life. As I was driving down Providence Rd after I left a Super Bowl party early with about 5 minutes left, I was literally screaming in my car. Like blood-curdling shrieking and pounding my steering wheel. No tears, just rage. Lots of profanity. I had to leave the party early for fear I was going to punch someone. I didn't sleep for hours.

This loss will stay with me until we win a Super Bowl. It's just brutal that Charlotte has still never won a championship in a major sport. This is the first time I've written about this since the game and I'm wishing I hadn't. Making me mad again.
