Feel Like It Is Time To Get Out The Broom

I hate to say it but I think the Hornets are about to get swept. It is only fitting if your a Carolina sports fan and the NBA could be more popular if it had more parity. Always big markets winning and smaller markets mediocre at best. There are exceptions but very few unlike other sporting leagues. I am not saying the NBA is responsible for it I guess but this game 1 against the Heat was called in our favor and we still are getting whooped. We have no answer for Wade, Deng, and Whiteside.

If we adjust our mindset to actual playoff basketball and show up, we will win both in Charlotte and makes the series competitive.  We were among the best teams at home in the East this season.

Tonight was indicative of our team this whole year.  We can look really good like elite-level one night, then the next get blown out by 25.

It's all Whiteside in my opinion.  I knew going into this one that we had absolutely no answer for Whiteside, and boy did they prove me right.  As weird as it may sound, I believe our only trump card is if Linsanity shows up.  Kemba looked totally lost as to what was going on today.

Well, Deng shot at 90% too. Wade is still Wade. And Winslow is fitting in nicely. Whiteside is only one piece of the puzzle... but he is a HUGE piece.

I felt like there were times the Hornets could have swayed some momentum in the game.  Yet every time they put up a decent defensive stand making the Heat throw up a shot, Whiteside would get the offensive rebound to give them another opportunity.

Shame on you Hornets organization.. Shame on you for forcing me into this position.. Shame on you for having to talk my son off the ledge by telling him the cliche that  "it's only one game.. it's best out of 7.. it doesn't matter if we lost by 1 or 100 - an L is an L.. now we need to just put this behind us and come out Wednesday prepared.."

Now he is hopeful we will come back and win the series.. I blame you Hornets..

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
