Gettleman: we only had one guy rated higher when we picked Bradberry, a defensive tackle

On WFNZ this morning Gettleman said we only had one guy rated marginally higher we we picked Bradberry and this higher rated player was at a stacked position.

IGO Edit: Huddle confirms the player was indeed a DT per NFL Source.

They likely had a DT ranked higher (two DTs taken just after Panthers picked) but since they just drafted one in round 1 they passed.

Imagine the Huddle if they drafted DTs in round 1 and 2. lol

EDIT: My sources now confirm this. It was a DT.

Jonathon Bullard is a smart guess here imo. I'm good with Bradberry though

Yeah it's pretty clearly a DT if you look at the guys between our picks. Nowhere else we'd be considered "stacked."

    • Who were we going to trade up with? The Dolphins wanted Proctor, the Rams were vehement on taking Ty Simpson, the Ravens wanted Ioane, and the Bucs werent trading with us except for maybe a kings ransom. Even if we wanted to move, we had no partner. Moot point.
    • Devin Lloyd is a stud lb but who is next to him? Prince and Nic should improve. Lee was super value but i am not counting this fourth round chicken yet. I would expect some improvement; hope to eat my words w/ a top ten D.
    • I mean I agree about diminished Cam probably still being viable. Even though it gave a preview of how teams would defend the pass against a limited QB. There was an issue with the upcoming contract he was due to get and his expectations vs the new reality of his physical status - that people tend to  overlook when looking back on it  It had an effect on things I believe   But I do have to ask… what about Tepper’s second major move? fuging clueless   I mean I would take even an injured  Cam over Bryce all day long.
