Id give anything to see Lebron play 1 series against the Bad boys of Detroit. I think after game 1 he'd be settling on jumpers and getting gashed by 20+.

He laid on the floor the other night like he'd been shot by a sniper. And it wasn't even that hard of a foul. Got no respect for the self anointed "king"

You're projecting right? You're saying that by the time Lebron retires he'll be greater than Jordan, right?

Because I see no argument that he's greater than MJ as of today.

Yeah, this team would get slaughtered by the team I just picked.  poo wouldn't even be fair.

Well, are we going by NBA officiating in the 90's or now?  Because if we go by 90's officiating (you know when players could actually play physical) then that team would be crushed by guys like Rodman and Barkley down low.  Not to mention the talent of post players of the 90's and the talent of PG's that actually passed and found open people.   Curry wouldn't have lasted longer than a month because of the physicality.   There is not a center in the league better than David Robinson and Shaq in their primes, not to mention you got Hakeem and others.    The NBA now, does NOT have the grit to play against those teams.

If you go by NBA rules now, Shaq would STILL be shooting free throws TO THIS DAY because of all the fouls he would draw.   MJ would probably be shooting 30 free throws a game as well, since if someone breathed his way he'd get a foul line trip.   I'd love to see MJ against guys that play defense like James Harden, it would be hilarious.

This is why comparing eras of sports is kind of silly.  You need to compare mid 80's to late 90's, 2000 to now, etc.   It's the same with the NFL and MLB.   The times were just different.  Lebron is hands down the best player in the NBA when you look at year 2000-2016, with Kobe behind him.   From 84-1999, MJ was the best player, hands down.  The 90's will definitely have more Hall of Famers, and the reason for that IMO is because most teams had a star player instead of building all-star teams like a video game (which is another discussion when you compare teams from eras).

Yeah, and to make matters worse these guys aren't mentally tough like in the 80's and 90's.  Reggie Miller talked so much trash to everyone he played against, he got into their heads.  Well, except one guy MJ.

Questioning Lebron's toughness is like questioning Cam's.

He is a bulldozer and initiates the contact. He would dominate Detroit. Stop living in nostalgia.

And the play you mentioned...it was a hard foul. Lebron hit the ground hard and awkwardly.

Blind hate.

LOL, you honestly think LeBron would dominate those teams that actually fouled you back in the day?

Rodman said it best, he would be just a role player in the late 80s and early 90s.

LeBron would dominate in any era. If he grew up with those rules and played with them for so long just like those guys he would be used to it and his greatness is undeniable he would dominate any era. You're talking like as if LeBron was put in a time machine to the past he couldn't play with them because of the hard play, but put those older players in a time machine to the future where they can't hand check and have to rely on lateral quickness to play defense they would get flat out burned by today's athletes on the floor.

I'm not sure he gets to play on two all-star teams back then though.
