5 Years of Saltiness (A Cam Newton Hater's Timeline)

Recommended Posts

Alot of cam / panther haters . All they say is we got lucky , we played an easy schedule (even though we dident),  cam should of dove for the ball, panthers wont make the playoffs because we lost norman,  cam will take a step back ( even though we get kelvin back yea makes alot of sense?) .

The haters will always hate hands down . We could win the superbowl next 5 years andthey will bring some pointless bs to discredit us.

Brady gets a lot of hate too lol most Qbs face adversity either through media or other fans. There are a few NFL golden boys who are well liked by everyone Russell Wilson and A Rod come to mind

For the love of God, Russell Wilson is not even like on this board. Wilson is not like on any board that I frequent including...Profootballtalk, ESPN, Reddit, and most team boards including the Dolphins, Bucs, and Eagles. Wilson is thought of as "overrated" and "fake" almost universally. About the only board that has nice things to say about him is Seattle's. The better example would be Andrew Luck (although I must admit that occasionally people do point out that he is not GOD himself...but that is just occasionally). A Rod is universally respected and pretty much liked.

QBs that everyone likes/respects (outside of their rivals) based on my experience:

Rodgers, Luck (LITERALLY GOD), Derek Carr (good god everyone loves them some D. Carr), Ryan, Brees, Cousins, Stafford, Palmer, Big Ben, M. Mariota, and P. Rivers;

QBs that tend to be highly controversial for any number of reasons based on my experience:

Newton (nearly universally hated), Wilson (almost universally hated), Brady (well respected by all but deeply hated by some), Dalton (controversial as far as being a franchise QB), Kaepernick (ABSOLUTELY universally hated), Romo (cowboys hate), Winston (pretty much universally hated), Flacco (many think he is overrated), A. Smith (same as Dalton);

Cutler is pretty controversial too but this past year people seem to have forgiven him for some odd reason...

They should get rid of Cam and every QB in the future until they sign one who is universally loved from day one until at least 50 years after retirement.

Plenty of other teams are able to do that. Right?

Clone Andrew Luck. ESPN circle jerk waiting to happen

It's a mystery to me why he's regarded as the greatest young QB of this generation of signal callers.

He's good, but he's not better than Cam or even Wilson. He's also not even remotely marketable.

I think I'd rather party with a medium sized rock than Andrew Luck.

I disagree. I think the dislike level goes up (in general) with the age of the fan. Cam's not what the older generation is used to in a QB. The kids love him though, assuming they haven't already been roped into some other team's fandom.

I think he was tabbed as the next Manning/Brady/Brees/Rodgers early on in college and most of the 'experts' who pinned that 'can't miss' label on him aren't yet willing to back off and see if he actually has what it takes to be a great NFL QB. Cam OTOH, was labeled by many as a bust before he was even drafted and getting picked #1 made some even hungrier to see him fail. He's had to win over people both on and off the field, while Luck still gets a pass because they haven't given him enough support on offense.

I saw Andrew Luck at a grocery store yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.

He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”

I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical 'infetterence,'” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

I havnt notice Winston being hated btw. I see lots of idiots slurping on his jock in sports forums, its incredible how many are impressed by him and that's even counting the stats idiots when its spelled out in front of them obviously. Romo is more of a disappointment to many I think, maybe some hate regardless because of the team.

It's ridiculous, but the bottom line is that there is no one to defend Cam. Charlotte's media declared war against him posting articles like that "Cam tore the sign down" poo along with dozens of other ratings grabber tales theyve made about him. Any media can attack Cam at will and no one will come to his defense. Im so glad Dan Patrick and Rich Eisen spent a good amount of time on that before the SB.
