Tom Holland IS Spider Man

Mr. Scot

Stan Lee himself said watching Tom Holland as Spider Man was like seeing someone who'd been born specifically to play that part.

All due respect to Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield (much less to the latter, in my opinion) but this kid absolutely owns the role.

Looking forward to next year's stand alone...

I'm in the minority but I would have rather them kept Garfield and that continuity. At least then we'd be closer to getting Venom, Carnage, and Kraven like I've been wanting forever.

Ummm they're still going with their Sinister Six movie.

Its not confirmed yet who Zendaya is playing but if its Mary Jane then I think its a good role..Shes what you're looking for if you're wanting this franchise to start young like Marvel wants it too. Get some distance between the last two reboots. Marvel wants its own thing

Mary Jane is not an important role, imo. She's a love interest. The movie is about the hero. Cast whoever is pretty.

I mean Kirsten Dunst has acting chops out the butt, she was amazing in Fargo and everything else. But her Mary Jane was a bullcrap awkward mess. Whenever I saw her and Toby McGuire on screen it never seemed genuine, it seemed like two indie dorks who couldn't believe they were doing a lame comic movie.

Update: The rumors of Zendaya being Mary Jane Watson are being shot down all over the place. Heck, Mary Jane may not even be in the movie.

It apparently is, however, true that Peter Parker's love interest will not be white. Specifically, it appears a racially swapped version of Liz Allen will be the object of his affection.

Apparently, no Gwen Stacy in the flick either but Betty Brant is there.

Depends on what Spidey timeline or universe they choose to go with.

MCU is pretty much a timeline to itself.

I mean, seriously...

Yeah, Zendaya said herself the other day she will not be a love interest. We don't know who is going to play MJ yet but it won't be her. Heck, Gwen Stacy was Peters first gal, I don't think they have said anything about her yet either. I do not think Zendaya will play Gwen either.

Marvel has nailed all of their movies. I have not been disappointed yet (I'm a huge comic nerd as well) Thor 2 wasn't top notch but it was still fun. Spidey is in good hands. He is Marvels pride and joy, they won't mess it up.

    • This season only ends one way... We win this Sunday. Bryce is decent. We take back 1st place...   Only to then get our brakes blown off in the last two weeks.
    • Here's one of the most maddening things, that will be shown in full light over the next three weeks. The same people around here that called Darnold a bum and Mayfield a washed up over draft are also the ones saying Bryce is a catastrophe. Yeah, and I've been one who said Bryce wasn't big enough, brave enough or capable enough. I said back in the day that Darnold had a lot of fight in him and got shouted down. And on Mayfield, heck I didn't know, I just knew we had a very, very bad team that was run terribly. But I saw both of those guys go out there and resurrect their careers and be play-off bound since shaking the Carolina clay dust off their cleats. And we sat there and cat called their cars as they pulled out of the parking lot, laughing at what nobodies they were. Over the next three weeks, those two guys may just serve us sh!t sandwiches and then settle down to their just desserts. And then we'll probably let Bryce go off into the realm of other teams. And when that happens, will we see him coming back, better than before and we're left to re-sit this cycle all over again? Same naysayers, same results, same revolving carousel of ponies and pundits?  Will we end up looking like the Temu version of the San Diego Chargers back in the day watching Drew Brees come to fruition in the previously moribund Superdome while we whiff on a Manning pick just to be jilted for Phillip "Always a Bridesmaid" Rivers?
