Looks like a lot of Ravens won't be playing, possibly including Flacco

"We're going to play the young guys," Harbaugh said. "It's going to be the guys that need to play in this game and we want to find about. Anybody that has health issue or anything like that is not going to even be thinking about playing."

That means 13 players for the Ravens, including Flacco, might not suit up Thursday: tight ends Dennis Pitta (finger), Crockett Gillmore (hamstring) and Maxx Williams (undisclosed); wide receivers Michael Campanaro (undisclosed), Chris Matthews (undisclosed) and Chris Moore (lower left leg); defensive end Bronson Kaufusi (broken ankle); and five players on the physically unable to perform list (Terrell Suggs, Steve Smith, Elvis Dumervil, Breshad Perriman and Lorenzo Taliaferro).

Left tackle Ronnie Stanley, the No. 6 overall pick, is considered a game-time decision after missing one day with a soft-tissue injury. "He wants to play," Harbaugh said.

Ravens are getting particularly thin at TE & WR

http://www.espn.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/post/_/id/28860/joe-flaccos-targets-are-dwindling-fast-at-tight-end-and-wide-receiver

That could mean they might be looking closely at some of the guys we might end up cutting or waiving to try and stash on the PS..., especially at TE?

Bill Voth on what to look for in today's game. http://blackandbluereview.com/panthers-preseason-opener-questions/

RUNNING BACKS

Can Brandon Wegher Repeat?

Wegher was a fun story last summer when he totaled three preseason touchdowns. While he earned a roster spot, the Panthers never had plans to incorporate him into the offense. But they remain high on Wegher’s potential, and if he shines like he did last preseason, Cameron Artis-Payne’s job may be in jeopardy.

    • We don't have to tear down Dak to appreciate what Bryce did yesterday. Dak had 0 running game. If the cowboys were better, he'd be a legit MVP candidate if he keeps playing this way.  They did it with Ceedee last year, but they do a better job of anybody we play consistently of getting their best receiver off Jaycee.  Bryce was good too. If we just catch the ball that was intercepted, we probably win by 7+, and Bryce goes over 200 yards passing.  Biggest shift the last few weeks has been play calling. I thought Canales abandoned the run game way to early at times last year. This year he really seems to be sticking with it.  I still think Chuba is better at making 4 yards when there's nothing there, but Rico is better at making 30 yards when there's 6 there. I like the direction. Hopefully we can get Moton, Sanders and Coker back and really be dangerous. Our play action game is pretty deadly right now.  Unrelated: My favorite quality about Bryce right now is his ability to see the defensive hold and throw the ball there. He EXPOSES the officials when they don't call it. That one on Tetaroia yesterday late in the game was a bad miss on their part.
    • That sacks allowed number lookin juicy!
    • This is a game the Panthers should win... just the sort of game they lose. The Panthers have a bad habit that goes back years of playing down to the competition's level only to mess around and lose the game. The Jets game should be taken very seriously! But I want to enjoy the fact that they beat the Cowboys for at least another day or so!
