Panthers workout S Major Wright, no immediate signing

It's awkward that there's such a vocal, albeit small, group of Panthers fans that are so anti-UNC that they want former Heels to fail so bad that they're fine with it even if it's to the detriment of the Panthers. I'm a Heels fan, but if there's a former NCSU player who can help us, bring him in! I hope Jeremy Cash, a former Duke player can help us as well.

As a Panthers fan I want what's best for the Panthers, regardless of where a guy played his college ball.

Yeah, I don't care at all about what college someone comes from..  As long as they can produce, that's all that matters

If you're referring to me- it's quite the opposite.

I personally like Tre Boston, in the role he is in. Rotational, sub packages only. Maybe he is ready to be a full-time starter?

The fact is we have been looking to upgrade the safety position every year because he has not been ready. What makes this year any different? Especially if we are clearly looking to shore up the piston. Tre Boston is simply not ready to take over.

FWIW- I am a Gamecock, have no affiliation with any anti-UNC etc. couldn't care less.

Hehe we will see Mr. Heel.

Methinks folks just can't fathom Tre Boston continuing his role of playing only in subpackages.

That's exactly what it is lol I hope Boston proves me wrong but hasn't been very impressive in the preseason as a main guy.

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
