He absolute saved our ass when we left a TE wide ass open in the endzone. Of course, we ended up giving up a TD anyway. I expected the CBs to struggle, but the downright shoddy play of the front seven is alarming. They have to be A LOT better than that to protect those young CBs.

We let a scrub QB who I don't think ever threw a pass more than 10 yards down the field dink and dunk us to death.

Exactly. It was our dominant D line that was supposed to shield our DB's but they played worse. We almost more rushing yards against us than passing.

He's not that good. Extremely average, our defense bailed him out

Very quick release, ball right on the money with a variety of throws. DBs worried he'll go deep, so he must have a hell of a deep ball. Handled our LB blitzes very well. He looked very good to me, but the jury is still out of course. Let's how he does against some better defenses.

Me too. I didn't agree with it at all. Solilai was ass all preseason.

This. This. This. When we cut Love for him I was thinking that he must have been great in practices because he stuck doing the pre season. Idk what they were thinking.

Probably still working with the Falcons as a double agent.

He was kept because of the contract we gave him. He absolutely was not one of our best DTs and he shouldn't be on the roster.

Tape. We have no tape on him. Will be interesting to see how he's performing come mid season.

Remember what Luke McCown did to us because we had no tape on him?

I think their offense will be potent as long as the running game is clicking for them, but I feel that he might have a similar outlook to a Nick Foles. Have an amazing first season because of no tape on him but come back to earth in year 2.

Outside 3 splash plays... yay, I guess? I was busy watching the other 20-30 snaps where they were useless and got bulldozed by a severely weakened interior.

No. You are focusing on the other 20-30 snaps instead of seeing that those "splash" plays led to points.

I was watching him and Short get slammed down to the turf in the entire second half, Einstein.

That was Paul Soliai and Vernon Butler. Butler was pushed about 10 yards off the ball a couple times. Soliai was the one being pancaked.

They rested Star and KK a lot. It will be interesting to see the snap counts for the game.

I was tired of seeing Soliai and Butler on the field. I kept asking about keeping Star and KK on the siideline. There were times when they had Delaire, Soliai, Butler, and Addison on the DL, and they got gashed very badly. Looked like Delaire spent most of his time watching the game instead of playing the game when he was on the field.

    • Per Bill Barnwell  Vikings bring back a familiar face Vikings get: WR Adam Thielen Panthers get: 2026 sixth-round pick, 2027 seventh-round pick A reunion between Thielen and his former team seems too easy. The Vikings are struggling with injuries at wide receiver and a potential Jordan Addison suspension. The Panthers want to see what they have with their younger wideouts, and Hunter Renfrow's emergence in camp as a potential fourth or fifth option could squeeze a roster spot for Thielen, who doesn't play special teams. The problem is Thielen's $6.25 million base salary. The Vikings obviously would prefer the Panthers cut the 34-year-old and pick him up for free, but Carolina already paid Thielen a $1.5 million roster bonus earlier in the offseason, suggesting it expected to have him. His salary isn't yet guaranteed, but it will become so if he's on the roster in Week 1, leaving the Panthers until then to make a decision. If he does get released, he isn't likely to get anything close to $6.25 million from another team, so he also is facing some uncertainty. All sides involved probably would need to give a bit to make a mutually advantageous deal work. The Panthers would eat $1.5 million of Thielen's contract, getting two of the three picks the Vikings got from the Jets in the Harrison Phillips trade in return. Thielen would take a $1 million pay cut in return for having the remaining $3.8 million guaranteed. The Vikings cleared out almost exactly that much when they made the Phillips trade, allowing them to absorb what's left of Thielen's contract as part of the deal. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46053274/nfl-preseason-trades-2025-team-offers-players-draft-picks-contracts
    • From JoeBucsFan. Teams don't usually waste 2nd round picks like that. Kind of sounds like they think he just doesn't belong in the NFL.
