"Mr. Jerry Richardson, Please Pick Up the White Courtesy Phone"

Because you need to talk to the NFL.

Enough of this, "I owe the NFL; I'm so grateful to the NFL" crap. You have hundreds of millions of dollars tied up in this football team and you are allowing everyone in the league to kick sand in their face whenever they feel like it.

I'm fed up with your head coach standing idly by on the sidelines while your QB takes one cheap shot after another.

I'm fed up with the "We took the high ground... got our ass kicked in the process, but..." attitude.

I'm fed up with this team being the punching bag of the NFL while its fans don't hear a peep from the owner, nothing from the GM and the coach is still standing with his arms folded across his chest while his QB takes one head shot after another.

We all hear it week after week, game after game about how special an athlete Cam Newton is. Well, he is and you paid for the privilege of having him on the team, so why don't you protect that investment?

You guys actually think Jerry isn't talking to the commish about this? I think the chances that he isnt is slim to none.

Not everything in the NFL is a media headline.

I actually think he might. If JR does take one thing very very seriously it is his profits. Cam is a huge chunk of that equation. As a businessman, JR will want to minimize risk.

You will just never hear about it in the media. Closed door stuff.

Good post.  Most nationally couldn't care less and don't know what 2-14 with Jimmy feels like-the sacrifice, among countless others, to land Cam.  And of course most nationally thought he'd bust so it was no problem until he took off on GOAT trajectory.

Ironically our coach was more "steam out of ears seething" mad after losing our franchise player and/or $13+ million for the shield, at least publically.

    • You would hope so. I’m confused why the sports world seems split on Bryce when he’s obviously not working out.
    • So let’s do the reverse? Make everyone agree everything he does is a disaster? I also think the whole “gaslighting” is on the eye of the beholder. It went from he can’t avoid one single sack countered with he actually did that well Sunday (with data backing it) to a little breakdown of why he is so bad. People are going to have different opinions. I’m also not going to pretend this wasn’t happening Day one with this little QB.
    • All this great stuff he has done, how often does he do it?  I have it at three or four games out of 14 where he was very good and then you get a drive here or a series there where there are some good things. Here is the gaslight part: everyone has put him on a curve with his first year the baseline, neglecting to understand how bad he was then. Even if he comes back twice as good, where does that really leave him? 25th ranked or thereabouts.     He had so far to go, and still does, it is a Major ‘settle’ to accept his play as worthy of giving him our future.  You want to settle when the Bucs have Mayfield, and the Saints have overtaken us at QB? We will be third in the division at QB. That is good enough for y’all?
