It's not right the position Gettle put McDermott in this season

I'm going to take up for McDermott on the defensive side of the ball. Ron to me gets the same blame as Gettle, because he agreed being a so called defensive guru. If he thought the D could better, his ass needs to start speaking up and demanding better defensive players your the head fuging coach

Gettle decides its a good ass idea to go CB happy and put the pressure on the coaches to get them to be ready to compete against Julio, that's not fair. It makes me sick as I think back to Gettle in the war room smiling and happy thinking he's outsmarting everybody drafting 3 straight corners. Bradberry get torched out the gate against Julio, so they decided to put others on him immediately and they get torched. Gettle watched Denver D dominate in the SB, and instead of taking what John Elway did after they lost the SB to Seattle, he just settles on what we have. What the hell is the matter with him

People will make excuses about the lack of talent as if that absolves the GM.

Gettleman knew what Shula wanted to do. He knew what McDermott wanted to. He failed to live up to his obligation as general manager.

The team isn't very talented-and yes, the man in charge of purchasing the product is to blame for it.

Failing to understand your team's identity is the crown jewel of failure that a general manager can make.

We not making playoffs.  The Denver loss sacked all mental toughness out...The Josh norman release was a big blow that we will not recover from..and Cam is just beat up..he has no energy...all those hits have taken its toll. Stupid this game is over before the 4th qtr.

Lol, no o-line, Shula sucks. No secondary, it's not mcdermotts fault. Some of you need psych-evals the way you look at this team.

Uhh.....

I'm going to take up for McDermott on the defensive side of the ball

You and Shula must be related this wasn't about McDermotts fault rofl

As for the OP yea Gettlman fuged up. No doubt about it can't stick up for it...he dropped the ball this off season and fuged a SB team up....he should publically admit it that his hubris cost us an entire season.

Team is just subpar at CB and S because they misjudged the front 7. Elite defenses today need to be stacked from top to bottom. The Broncos, Seahawks, Cheifs, and Vikings have talent on all 3 levels. We only have good LBs. This season will just continue to get worse because it is a personnel and coaching issue. Our scheme on both sides look obsolete

Why does it always comes back to the defense? Again, 10 points against one of the worst defenses in the league should get someone fired.

Because defense wins championships man and i'm not talking about the offense that's a whole separate conversation. A dominate defense atleast keeps us in the game. Hardly no sacks against Ryan, and Julio is about to set a record against us. Gettle 1st 4 picks in the draft was all defense. For somebody to come from the Giants, this is unacceptable defensively.

Yep I refuse to blame mcdermott for the dumpster fire talent in the secondary that gettleman was "happy" with.. shula on the other hand has a ton of talent and only real glaring weakness is the OTs.. shula just doesn't know what a fukking short pass is.

This isn't on G-Man yet. This is virtually the same squad minus Norman from last year. This is on the coaching.

We lost veteran players, we gained no new veteran players who has some history of producing. Gettle brought on rookies. He banked on Ealy/CJ and that's failing. He banked on DT's and that's failing. He banked on the defensive backfield and that's failing

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
