"I would have taken a shot"

It is the honest answer, and so would all good NFL linebackers. Cam wasn't clearly in from the LB's perspective.

Agree, and I think Newton's hesitation cost him.

But even so, is that really a wise thing to say right now?

No idea what the hell Newton was thinking on that play. He let up and started to stroll in like he was already in the end zone. Happened once before with him against the Saints last year and he got clocked that time too.

RR on hit on Cam near goal line: “It’s a judgement call, but If I was playing, I would have taken a shot.”

i get what he's saying, and to be fair Rivera wasn't a dirty player, but I got a bad feeling this may not go over all that well with some folks.

Rivera's passion in defense of Cam's health is truly breathtaking.

Gives me the chills.

(That what you were looking for?  P.S. I was being sarcastic.)

Not really "looking for" anything.

I just think it wasn't a wise thing to say in the current situation.

Rivera's not the type to lie, though,  For better or worse, he says what he's thinking.

Admittedly, there are times I wish he didn't, like "They're still learning to play together".

It was a terrible play by Newton and I was surprised as many people here got as upset with the Falcons LB as they did. You can't allow someone to jog into the endzone, because they slowed down.

What I will say about the play was the hit by Remmers on Jones afterwards is one of the dirtier plays I've seen all year.

This'll end well.

One does have to love the delicious irony of a Saints fan lecturing another organization on dirty play.

It'll go over just fine with NFL fans...and Remmers took up for Cam just fine by falling knee first onto the guy after the play. You can clearly see it in the gif in the other thread...non issue it was a football play...if you don't like that this isn't the sport for you.

You're a Saints fan. You're in no position to call out dirty plays LOL.

    • Think the "official time" put out was 4.48, but there were a lot of scouts there who of course all had difference times as it's all handed timed by them.  Think I saw it as low as 4.43 and as high as 4.62 or something, but in the end it's all basically the same speed because 40 yard dash is so pointless. Anyone who complains about his speed is just someone who wants a Chase/Jefferson/Nabers style #1 as opposed to an Evans style #1 who isn't going to beat you because of his speed but his other abilities. In the end, he's fast enough for a player his size and surprisingly quicker and more agile than people give him credit for too. The real problem is that Panthers fans can't get our past big WR failures out of their head, they hear "big WR" and automatically see a plodding KB or Jarrett in their minds and assume that's also T-Mac.
    • If you are buying Silver Club, 300 level, try and the buy ones that have the Lot 1 parking pass.  it is steps to the stadium Also, buy on the shade side my PSls used to be section 342, under the overhang.  I didnt care about sun or rain plenty of sites have interactive  maps that can show you   Just know, if they are opposite side of 342, the sun will beat on your head…endzones too.   if, you know for sure that you are going, and you need a hotel room, do it now  you can always cancel … remember, even if the panthers suck,  the national press follows them as do their fans.  Hotel rooms go fast for that game
    • didn't he run like a 4.52?
