If you were to fight a panther and a buccaneer in some sort of cage match my money is on the panther now the buccaneer got a sword and that's pretty bad ass but if you took that away you'd also have to take away the panthers claws to make it a fair fight, that being said, declawed panther still mauls unsworded buttaneer cause superior incisors and whatnot. So ipso facto I got a good feeling come Monday

Buccaneers used guns more than swords. And you can't just decide to take away things from them, because these are defining characteristics. A buccaneer would beat a panther by shooting it.

Oh but roedo, you could not be more wrong. Captain Jack Sparrow only had one bullet, but he crossed swords with lots of folks.

 

The defining characteristic of a Pirate, is his sword. Given that, I'll take the Panther. I don't know why you expect a fair fight from it. It will stalk your azz until it finds a weakness. Then....well, let's just say, I would not plan on a late dinner if I was the Pirate.
