NBC blasts NFL for Rams going to Cam's head

I would take a loss anyday if it meant our defense having 100 penalties taking head shots at the opponent QB every week until the point got across to other teams and the NFL.

We can not expect Cam or Rivera to keep calling them out, but it is a story and we can feed it. At the very least, this will fuel the concussion litigation the NFL is fighting in court for former players.

It may also set up a case for Cam if his career ends prematurely because of these types of hits in the pocket. Defenders will go for these hits if they see that the officials allow it. Even if it meanst they get fined.

You talking about the Carolina Panthers Fan base..the same Bible belt fan base that have many fans who still feel like Cam shouldn't dance..

I know we aren't and I really like the fact that our guys play physical but clean football. However, sometimes you have to give what you get. It'll take just one game for the league to get the message.

Funny thing is they had a NFL safety commercial with Blandino that aired during the game. They don't care, and I cringe when I see Cam squeezing his helmet after a hit.

Rivera will not allow it, but I agree.

I was the player with the mindset of playing with integrity, but if that player went dirty, then I had to match it to compete. If it is really dirty and the officials refuse to enforce, then you have to send a message during a play - especially if it is for your QB or star player.

Aaron Donald and Mark Barron would have had 300 pound bodies flying at their knees and heads for the rest of the game until the refs enforced penalties. Plays would have been run directly to the sidelines at Jeff Fisher with a bowling ball RB and some big OLs. It would all be legal but dirty. That is how you get justice in football when the officials can not bring it.

Don't put it in the rule book if it is not a penalty. This is not a rule in place for officials to pick and choose who gets it.

I still say institute replay teams for each team with the ability to flag plays and challenge them during play. If it is ruled a flagrant 1 or 2, then enforce a penalty with a free FG kick for a point. Eject the player on a flagrant 2. They do not have to stop play. Just challenge it during the same drive and pass the review before the drive is over.
