We need to lose out.

Can someone break down the pros and cons of losing out?

I know the human side of things that we don't want to have a losing mental note and blah blah I get that but other than the player side of things what is the point if we win most of our games and don't make the playoffs?

Scheduale strength?

Pros: top-3 draft pick

Cons: Gettleman will waste it and the same shitty coaches/players will turn the player into trash (or he'll get injured)

At this point our draft stock would have to be so bad that Dave couldn't use the "well the player we needed wasn't a once in a generation blue chip talent so we just drafted a rotational player instead" excuse but even then I'm not sure he wouldn't still try.

This franchise is the Pelicans and Cam Newton is Anthony Davis. Literally, watching a once in a generation player squander away his prime years.

What a perfect comparison. However, AD still has a chance to jump to another team during his prime years. Cam on the other hand is going to spend all his prime years playing for the great Rivera and Shula.

What difference does it make?  You don't get anything for having a winning season.

True, but in the early years players would sign with a winning team over a losing team.  With today's bargaining agreements and big contracts, not so much.  Just wanted to put in some controversy.

We would definitely have an easier schedule next year by having to play all last place teams in the NFC divisions.

Why so the Panthers can take another DT or CB and continue to derail the best player in franchise history?

Derek Carr has gotten more help in 1/3 the time as Newton from his front office.

This team, city, and front office LITERALLY looks at Cam getting the crap kicked out of him and turns their head to discuss what DL can we get.
