2017 FAs that will improve this team...

Both Glenn and Armstead have already signed big long term extensions.

The LT FA class is complete trash this year. Click the LT tab here: http://overthecap.com/free-agency/

Andrew Whitworth is the best by far but he is 34 years old and declining. The rest are terrible unless you think Matt Kalil is salvageable.

The two that are good aren't going anywhere. Villanueva is an EFRA which means there is zero chance he leaves Pittsburgh since all they have to do is offer the minimum and he can't leave. Nsekhe also seems to be pretty good but he is an RFA and Washington isn't going to let him leave since a cheap 2nd round tender will guarantee he stays.

There are some decent RT's though, but that's not really the position that needs to be filled with Williams showing improvement.

The worst thing is you have access to so much information and you didn't do any research. A simple search on overthecap or spotrac and you could've seen an updated list of 2017 free agents.

As for what I believe the Panthers are missing are numerous but #1 for me is a legitimate 2nd TE, particularly one who can run block effectively. The free agent class for TE's actually has some talent this year.

  1. Martellus Bennett(NE) - Probably a pipe dream but he's a hell of a player.
  2. Jack Doyle(IND) - The Colts who just spend good money on Dwayne Allen might not spend on Doyle.
  3. Vance McDonald(SF) - May be a better athlete than Greg and I've seen good things about his run block.

    • Oh I was.  But we still had great players.
    • You keep AT unless he WANTS to get traded to a contender during the season.  He's valuable, TET, XL, and Coker need to learn how to be PROFESSIONALS on game day, practice, and the off-season.  That's what you get from AT.  ADDITIONALLY, he is clutch.  He is steady.  At is that savvy vet who will always flash. I really think they keep 7 WR's if Brycen can operate on special teams.  Week 1 you may see us heavy on WR and OL because of the massive amount of injuries across the league.  Renfrow may even be cool starting on the PS since he lives close and wouldn't need to uproot his family.  You can still make nearly 400K as a vested veteran on an NFL practice squad.  You see more veterans hanging around since the age limit was lifted. I think the 1st 53 and PS looks like so...... Offense: (25) QB (2) Young / Dalton RB (3) Chuba/Rico/Etienee WR (7) T-Mac/XL/AT/Coaker/Renfrow/JHjr/Brycen TE (3) Tremble/Sanders/Evans OL (10) Icky/Lewis/Corbett/Hunt/Moten/Brady/Mayes/Yosh/Zavala/Kingston Defense: (25) DL: (6) Brown/Robinson/Turk/Bobby B/Cam Jackson/Sam Roberts OLB: (5) Wonnom/PJ2/NicSic/Princely/Incoon ILB: (5) Rozeboom/TW/Windmon/Cherelus/Bam CB: (5) Horn/MJ/CSW/Thorton/Evans S: (4) Tre'Mo/Ransom/Demani/Scott Specialists: (3) JJ/Fitz/Martin Last spot: Right now I have it as a toss up between DJ Johnson and Bam.  Until NicSic can come back we need an extra edge.  Do we utilize TW more as a blitzer from the middle to keep Bam safe?  I'm not worried about DJJ getting picked up from another team, a little more concerned with Bam. Practice Squad: DavidMoore/JamesMitchell/JacolbyGeorge/Tuttle/Crumdley/Ray/DJJohnson/Kantra/Carter/Blacksheer/ Wright/KrysBarnes/MichaelReid/Safety pick up/RB pick up/QB pick up
