Cam/Starters didn't wear ties to Oakland, or on gameday either. Nobody sat.

Also from the Panthers facebook page, this is what Cam wore pre/postgame last week against Oakland.

Would really be nice if Ron wouldn't have just poo all over Joe for asking about the dress code violation in specific tonight, normally Joe's an asshat but its an extremely valid and relevant question.

Granted, I'm not a fan of Cam's "well I'm 6'5 and away from home and I couldn't wear a tie with this outfit I have" response, but -- this entire season has raised some major concerns for me with Rivera, the coordinators have made me question them even more than before, and Gettleman.....yeesh

Then they should say that. Lying only digs the hole deeper.  Other teams say "broke team rule" and leave it at that.

No, no they shouldn't. That's none of our business. HR at your work doesn't tell the world all of your problems.

Edit: and that's what they did say while they waited for social media and espn to spin a story for them.

Looks like the entire team was given permission to wear sweats in the first picture, due to being in bay area for a week. Not easy to pack two suits.

Ya it is. Anyone who travels for a living knows how to do it.

Addition: it's a hell of a lot harder to pack 14 stiff top hats. But I still can't believe anyone thinks this has anything to do with fashion violations. Think back to bene.

You travel with 100 people and strict baggage allowances due to equipment being brought as well? You think they can just check an additional bag?

Like I said... hats? Accessories. You know your gonna be there a while just overnight a cloths box.

This just doesn't make sense. Is all I'm sayin'.

This is not over a tie. He didn't wear one in Oakland and I don't recall him being benched. There have been other games as well. It's definitely deeper than what meets the eye. One of the things I love about this organization though is that we don't air our dirty laundry. But the fact that Ron did this and everybody pretty much thinks it's stupid (media included), kind of opened the door for crap.

    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
    • They will still be a playoff team but they aren't contenders anymore IMO. They won't be able to spend like they have when they went to a SB and proved he couldn't carry a win at that level with a really good team around him. Now he is going to have to do it with less to spend around him. They just locked in to being a playoff bound team that's going to be a known speed bump for whoever will represent the NFC in the SB.
    • Hmm. I think he'll live up to it. Last year, about half of his team was on IR it seems, at one time or another. Year before, Super Bowl appearance. Year before that, playoff run after being third on the depth chart and being pressed into service. Is he one of the greatest in the game right now? Nope. No chance of that. Is he in the top 10 going into next season? Pretty good chance of that.  Would 20 or more teams in this league love to have the guy as their starting QB. Most likely so. He's a good QB who can implement his coach's game plan to a T and has both the confidence of and confidence in his teammates. That'll take you a long way in this league if you've got the right cast around you, and he does.
