The NFL/fans LOVE what we've become

The vast majority of the fans and the NFL as a whole, are extremely happy to see the Panthers be the laughingstock of the league.  Most of them hated us last year and said we were a fluke.  Unfortunately we have proven them right.

I won't say there was a conspiracy to put us "in our place", but the officiating certainly helped take us down a notch or two.  I think everyone remembers Cam saying, "You don't want me to dance, stop me".  We'll it's stopped.

Josh Norman may be the smartest player in the NFL for jumping off this sinking ship while the money was there.

Mostly true, utopia for the masses.  Now they're hoping we win out and miss out on a guy like this.

Let's NOT mess this up at this point.

I truly believe that it all centers around the dab and what some may consider over-the-top and classless antics of last season. Moreover, the whole Cam narrative, whether based on misinformation or not, has taken root and things probably aren't going to change on that score. It's the imperfect poo-storm coming to pass at exactly the wrong time, and unfortunately it is part of our rep. There is, perhaps, an unending amount of fuel for haters to hate now. We're going to have to live with it.

josh norman did not "jump ship" because he was "smart" he got released because he let his cuzzo try to play badass agent man who went way too hard in the paint. it worked out for him but it was by no means his choice or even his desire to leave this team.

Absolutely.  Live by the dab, die by the dab.

So knowing what we know now, would you still have supported the whole "play with your personality" thing last season?

Honestly, I am old school, so I always thought it was a largely unnecessary distraction. But, I understand that I am pushing 50, and that the youngsters live in a different world. I'm not going to judge them too harshly.

I do however think that the NFL is unnecessarily taking some fun out of the game overall, and that individualism and creativity shouldn't necessarily be targeted.  That being said, the players can police themselves as long as no one is being injured. If you're big enough to dish it out, no matter that you know you're getting on people's nerves, well...don't be surprised when they take the first opportunity---every opportunity---to kick you when you're down. That's kind of a simple life lesson that should be easily understood.

Last year, minus the Super Bowl, was the funnest year I will probably ever have going to the games and watching a Panthers team light it up. So I say Yes to the Dab and fug off to the NFL!
