Class act. He is almost the Thomas Davis of the offense. I say almost because he isn't technically a career Panther even tho he became the beast he is with us. Amazing production, highly under rated, and just generally one hell of a guy. That's why he's been nominated for the Walter Payton man of the year award 2 years in a row. It would be great to have a Panther bring it home 2 of the last 3 years.

He needs 8 yards to get to 1000 and the record.  I have to think that Rivera shut him down tonight to let him get the record at home.  He will get one hell of an ovation when that happens.  I am very happy for him....so well deserved.

In a season of "What Ifs" for us fans. Greg has quietly put up a "What the heck" type year.

Surprisingly, this year, which could wind up being his best year, because of the unmet expectations by the team, went largely unnoticed.

Say what you want about Cam, or Shula. But they have put Greg in a position that few players attain. HOF talk. Right now, we have made Greg the TE of the NFL. He is the measuring stick. With Gates riding off, albeit slowly, into the sunset. It is now Greg that leads the way for NFL TEs. Gronk could have been the poster boy for the modern day TE, unfortunately, his body, at least at this point, has let him down.

Most fans rarely get a HOF talent. We may be looking at 3. (I have been a Lions fan for a LONG time, and I have seen precious few HOF talents.) Having 3 at one time? It is dang near unprecedented.

I hope this thread goes on for a while. Because I truly believe too few Panther fans understand what is transpiring right under their noses. Sure they see  Cam. And it is impossible to miss Luke. But Greg? He has largely gone unnoticed.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, everyone knows Greg is great, So you are crazy once again Hubby. And I get that. But folks need to pay closer attention. Otherwise, they're going to miss something special. Mr. no yac is leading the way.

tl/dr version; Greg real good.

Al Michaels threw TD's name into the HOF discussion on national TV so there may be four when it's all said and done.

If character & "don't quit" mentality counted, TD & Greg would be shoe-ins to the Hall..

Even back in 2012 when I first started paying close attention to the Panthers, it was guys like Greg & TD that made me a passionate fan.  (89 too at the time...)  Yes, Cam & Luke are fantastic and I love watching them play, but something about Greg &TD and their work ethic & commitment to serve others really made me want to cheer for this team.

My younger brother's a Bears fan so I've always kept an eye on them. Called him at lunch after reading on here that Chicago was shopping Greg, was fuggin extatic that we traded for him... And if not for a Christmas gift mishap, I'd have had his Reebok jersey & been loving it. But instead of Olsen the jersey said Clausen...

Hes a beast, so glad he's made a home in Carolina, dude deserves that record... Gronk was a possible for the record when the season started, just couldn't finish...
