SEA & MIA play 43

Just admit it, your comment was misguided.

I feel like a bigger man is required for our scheme.

I don't feel like we use players the way MIA or SEA would for their sizes.

Doesnt Wake and Avril stand up a lot?

It just seems like forever since we put a smaller guy as a linebacker-ish pass rush position and used him. I remember in the days of Kaiser and Applewhite we kinda used them that way sometimes, just doesn't seem to have been the case for a long time now.

Come on down Barnett, Fournette, Jamal Adams, or Jabril Peppers.  I'm happy with all these guys in our range.

Good with these picks in that order, but leave off Peppers

Depending on the QB situation, we might even be able to drop back a few spots and pick up one of those 3.

Knowing Gman, he will stay at our pick and go with one of the 3 though

DE do not stand up much in a 43 scheme.

They line up hands in dirt and rush the passer.

Same thing our guys do.

Right...but don't these guys line up at LB type spots with other pass rushers with their hands in the dirt? I don't know for a fact, just seems like it. I would still like a massive freak lol.

There is a very good chance he could be the best player on our board by the time we pick if we end up picking in that 8-10 range. Personally I would be just fine with that pick, we could definitely do worse.

With that being said though I think if Adams or Fournette fall to us (and yes I think both will be higher rated prospects on most team's boards) they would be the pick.

Also you have to look at who is available in the later rounds.  We might think there are enough DE's that we can wait until the second round.

For example, we could maybe go

1st: S - Adams

2nd: DE - Taco Charlton

instead of

1st: DE - Barnett

2nd: S - Marcus Maye

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
