Would Mike Williams be wasted in Carolina?

Do I think that he could help the offense? Absolutely. But, the only bright side to having the crappy season we just had is that we get to draft pretty much whatever position we want and make immediately make an upgrade (and we don't want QB, LB or DT, I hope). The next Cam or Luke could be sitting there at 8. I think that there will better players and certainly better opportunities to improve than Williams available.

Waste. This is cart before horse type of poo. Cam can't pass the ball to Williams if he has been driven so deeply into the ground that they need fuging radar to find his body. Fix the O-line. You know...so the franchise qb it took almost 2 decades to find doesn't die.

While I agree with your principle, I think that picking a LT, I assume you would want Robinson or Ramczyk, would be a bigger waste with the 8th pick. I think that the drop off between them and who we could likely get at 40 isn't that big. The #8 pick needs to be a future HOFer.

Not to speak out of turn but I'm pretty sure he wasn't advocating taking a tackle at that spot.  It was more that we need to upgrade the Oline before adding to an already somewhat talented unit.

Yes he would be nice to have possibly but at that spot there are much better options to improve the team than receiver.  Now who that will be is anyone's guess.

My money is on a defensive player as it appears the top half of the first round is dominated by defensive players.  Sucks for us that there's not a top 10 overall left tackle in this draft but that's just how it is.

Ok, I'll buy that. He didn't actually say that we should draft OL instead of Williams, just that we needed to improve it if we expect Williams to make much of a difference. i agree.

And never forget, speaking out of turn is what makes America great! It's pretty much 95% of what people do on this site.

Considering the Panthers current WRs, I believe Corey Davis would help this team out way more than Mike Williams who is very similar to Kelvin Benjamin.

Either one would improve the offense...don't see "way more"though...

I think we could use a WR, but two issues with Williams at #8.

First - not the type of WR we lack / need for Cam.

Second - luxury pick at #8 and think we would bypass a few players that would help us return to NFC leaders quicker.

Give me John Ross or Curtis Samuel, or someone like DJax, Stills, Wright or Patterson. We've got the height/mismatch move the chains WRs, what we need is the speedster with good hands/route running to exploit the defense.

Give me any of those WR's mentioned in the last paragraph! All WR's listed there can literally change this team with their speed and athleticism. I like KD Cannon from Baylor too.

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27

    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
