The Circus

Sorry, was getting my Trump administration comments ready.

Anyway, went to the circus in the old Charlotte coliseum when I was about 10.  Busy, that is what I thought.  Stuff going on everywhere.  Hate than any iconic pc of Americana goes away, but it is what it is.  I remember when some of the trains came through our town with all the circus cars also

my stepkids second cousin was the ringmaster a few years ago, he's a magician and they designed the show around his act:

He's a super cool guy, works his ass off and is so nice - had him over for dinner when he was passing through town and he had lots of interesting stories. He literally lived in the circus train caboose for a year.

When I was a kid, not sure if it was B and B, but saw an elephant poop and get crap all over its tail.  As the elephant turned around near the crowd, the poopy tail slapped a man right in the face.  He wiped his face with his daughter shirt.  The whole crowd laughed their asses off.  I'll never forget it.

I also saw it at the old Coliseum when I was a kid. I remember always wanting those light up toys that spin and everything... don't think I ever got one. Ate cotton candy, it turned my poo blue/green.  Good times. Sad to see it go but maybe its for the best with the whole animal thing.  That said, there were plenty of elements to the show that did't rely on the animals. We saw the show a few years back and it seemed a little lackluster maybe skimping on the lighting and prop elements a bit.

Sadly, there's more truth to this than most will realize. It was P. T. Barnum himself who said, "There's a sucker born every minute." And this was made painfully obvious to most rational people in this country in November.

And, by the way, they had just named their first female ringmaster...
