If the Pats let go of Bennett...

He's kind of an obnoxious douche bag but he's good.

But I don't like him as a person.

But he's good

But he really only cares about himself. That's why he's been on 4 teams before the age of 30.

I mean the dude talked poo about Jason Witten. Who does that? Witten is like a grade A great guy.

Well if he sees bullshit he's going to call it out immediately. So I understand you may not like that but hey

I don't care what his political views are as long as he can play. My only problem with him is he seems to completely disappear at times.

He should have absolutely dominated in New England this year and did for a couple games. Other games he was a complete non factor.

I wouldn't be mad if he came here but I wouldn't be thrilled if we overpaid either.

Nah, I have no problem with people calling out bullshit, but he doesn't always, he's just an obnoxious asshole.

He's talked poo about every organization he's been in except for NE because Bill doesn't put up with it.

He talked poo about Witten, which just doesn't make sense. Witten is another version of Greg Olsen/TD. Top notch dude who does a lot for his community and others.

Smitty calls out bullshit on the regular and he's my favorite player ever.

Why would you talk about the patriots when they know how to win he was on the Chicago Bears for god sake's I mean if you don't give me something to complain about I won't complain and I'm pretty sure that's how he is no one complains about the patriots because it's the patriots they have a lot of rings they know how to win they have a good coach

Maybe he looks up to Witten I saw the interview and he was more disappointed that he didn't you know take him under his wing when he was a rookie or earlier in his career we don't know who Witten is personally he could be an asshole let's stop assuming he's nice we don't know. So I completely get why he was so fed up with Dallas seeing the way that they are run(they DO have favorites). He has some legitimate complaints so that is all. Yeah but I don't think you are as tolerant of people who do that if they played for a different team you got a connection with Smitty because he played for the Panthers so of course you're going to be a little more lenient towards his poo talking.

He's a free agent so the Patriots don't have to do anything for us to go after him. He will probably want around 8-10 million to be a back up.

Good player but the value isn't there.

With Ron talking about more 2 TE lineups, he wouldn't be a back up per se, but $8-10 million is a lot of money. $6-8 million per year for 2-3 years would be fine by me. He's a good blocker and a good catcher. Major upgrade over Dickson. I would still be looking for a young TE in the draft that can eventually take over for Olsen.

I agree, the TE should come from the draft.

    • I agree with this and I think it's worth mentioning too that Bryce is not consistent on his placement and especially velocity and that in large part is driven by his footwork. We all know XL doesn't have the best hands and I don't know that he can overcome that. Cam always had the heater that just hit your hands and sank into your grip, where Bryce has some that are harder thrown, some soft. Bryce stepping into a pass looks so much different than that hop throw thing he does. I think XL really needs to hit the jugs machine and start learning how to catch all these different touch passes. TMac and Coker don't have these issues. If XL doesn't get some work in he's going to be out of the league in the next couple of years.
    • I think most people like XL from a personal standpoint. I don't think he's stupid either. Although if we are being realistic he is lacking in football IQ at this point in time and it cannot be disputed that he has not taken working on his craft seriously at all times given the body of work on the field. It speaks for itself. I myself have defended him at times given the circumstances of our QB room. But he is now in his third year and 25 years old. We are not in a position as a franchise to go around babying anyone especially first round draft picks. He needs to take his position and his football career seriously or he is going to end up selling used cars somewhere. I hope he realizes this and takes an extended break from social media because that mess certainly isn't going to increase his net worth if he ends up out of the league. And these hanger on types will disappear quick too once that money dries up and it surely will eventually. We'll see how he responds.
