Highly doubt we go after any top tier FAs but can absolutely see one of the LT options being brought in and/or a 2nd tier WR, S, DE.

Think we'll have a significantly better team than last year if we upgrade LT, get Fournette, S and DE on day two, slot WR mid rounds, 2nd TE in FA like Luke Willson and with continued development and playing time of some of our young players like Worley, Shaq, Butler, etc. And while last year was terrible, we were esentially 7-9 (clearly tanked the Bucs game, Cam was intentionally sloppy and Greg fell down on the 2 point on purpose) with all the injuries we had and a lot of close losses, outrageously poor refereeing against us and the SB hangover. Feeling a Denver like come back to win it all 2 years after getting stomped.

Sitting Luke when he was completely healthy is by definition not trying your hardest to win as an organization. Of course I don't know about Cam and Greg, that's just the way it looked to me. They likely weren't actually intentionally trying to lose but I bet you they didn't give their all to win that game.

Sitting Luke after he suffered his 2nd concussion in 2 years in a game that had no post season implications probably had more to do with Luke's health than the intended outcome of the game.

And have you ever seems Greg's passion and competitive nature? He fell on purpose? Come on..

Greg's not stupid.  Him falling on that play is a fart in the wind to his and the team's legacy of winning Super Bowls.  Picking 8 instead of being out of the top 10 in every round is Y U G E.

His goal is to win Super Bowls.  He already made the Pro Bowl in a lost season for the team.  He doesn't have to worry about his next contract.

Add in a punishing fullback for LF to run behind and we are rollin'

Umm no. Luke was cleared. Him playing in those games was no more a threat to his health than playing the start of this upcoming season. There's no logical reason to sit him there if you're still trying your hardest to win games. He should've been playing. I'm not happy about it even though it helped result in our 8th overall pick, but it's just the reality of the situation.

I don't think he thought about it and fell on purpose but I think he checked out that game, just like most of the NFL players playing in meaningless games that week. Fringe players may play their hearts out in a meaningless week 17 game but not vets who have no reason to. Better to not get hurt.

Yeah forgot to add that in my post but the kid out of Baltimore would be amazing here. Lot of great options in FA for FB this year. Won't even have to f*ck around with these UDFA FBs we keep bringing in and cutting.

I'm confused....or you're confused.... or both.

From the opening statement:

I would have been P I S S E D if our guys DIDN'T tank that football game.  All part of the ultimate goal of WINNING a Super Bowl.

I still question fandom and logic when people try to argue for tanking to climb up the draft boards. I'll take a win any day over finishing last in our division. I'm sure our guys feel the same way.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
