Salary Cap Set

At the end of the day I don't get this poo. I don't get how teams have negative caps and still sign people. I don't get dead money vs guaranteed vs other poo. At least it makes more sense then the compensatory pick formula.

This is the current outlook of the teams salary cap information without the Addison, Horton, Jacobs, and Silatolu deals included. My guess is that those deals will take up to about $30 million in cap space currently.

There still could be a few cuts to be made like Dickson and Gano but that would save only $5 mil on the cap.

That's not as much as I thought, especially with the signings we've already had. We really don't have much of poo to bring in anyone worth anything.

All that doesn't change how DG and the Panthers operate. Even with the cap space the the browns have, DG would never go on a spending spree adding.multiple high priced free agents. It's never the answer.

We have room to work with. We have room to retain the core guys that are up for new contracts, AND  one blue chip FA that DG feels is a perfect fit.

Our team is a very competitive team, and tough to beat when we aren't beating ourselves. We got that way in part to DG.   He will continue to build this team stronger, and he won't have to use multiple high priced FAs to do it.

    • He's 245lbs and ran a 4.5 at the combine several years ago. You can't teach size or speed so he's got those things going for him. If he has a decent work ethic and the coaches have a plan for him, he should be more than a camp body.
    • Great realistic draft, its missing a 5th the Viking one right or you used it to trade for JROd...I see.  Thomas is the 6th is one of those "autos" if there's no Cole Payton/QB.  I believe Parker is like christ, he can play all 5 OL spots if needed.  Crow is one of my targets for months, sometimes I can get with the 4th, but I think he is a solid 3rd rounder.
    • He does have luke-like traits, but ......ugh I hate to spend draft currency on the low valued ILB. Same bitachin I did about Dan traded up for brooks, he even pulled the classic " we had a 1st round grade on him"  Hell I rather see if Wallace finally learned how to get his body ready for a NFL season. Toss this in the pile too, Id be ok with Claudin Cherelus starting. I think Lloyd will elevate any player next to him and Claudin would break out, he's got the same health issues like Sanders.....he's climbing the mountain and pulls a hammy.  Plus since this a great and deep ILB group, the UDFA pool should have a few players that get overlooked.
