Whether it's Whitworth or one of the other veterans. An aggressive approach would be signing one and taking one with our second pick to groom slower if needed. That could involve a trade up.

I'm realizing that while it isn't optimal, a LT must be brought in to shore up the line until a long term solution is found.  

Age/character/money are just a non-factor in our current situation.

The age old huddle joke "but can he play LT?" is the actual question that must be answered.

If "he" can, then he should be on our roster yesterday.  I'm not concerned with who "he" is, just as long as he can keep Cam on his feet and clean.

    That's the bottom line. We need a solid to very good LT right now. Since every other option struggles to be solid, I'll gladly pay a little extra for very good. 

 And even 12M/yr is about the right value. What is top 5-10 level LT play worth per year? Considering you have to overpay for any FA of value, even 12M for him isn't bad.

I doubt we sign anyone with major character issues as there are quite a few guys to choose from.  However, this franchise has placed character above all for a long time.  In this particular case/situation It has to take a reduced role in the decision. 

Im not advocating a pos to be on the team but I'd take a flyer on somebody and hope our strong and veteran leadership can keep a him in line for a year or two.

Are we really willing to pass on Whitworth because we'll have to pay him some money. I'd gladly fork out 10 mil a year instead of rolling Remmers out there another year.
