Boston Globe-Panthers or Chiefs favorites for opener

I'd rather not have our toughest game to start the year.  Cam will be coming off shoulder surgery, and will likely still be shaking off the rust and be a bit tentative until he gets comfortable with what he can and cannot do.

If he's participated in camp as expected he won't be tentative after a month of camp and practice.

A lootttttttt of pussies in here

Let's do it

My only reason for not liking it is I want us to go under the radar again. I want us to be slept on early on in the season. If we win in Foxboro you'll just hear "OH PANTHERS BACK" and our players may start believing it too

We play against the team that beat us in the SB on the road. Why Atlanta isn't playing against NE. The NFL conspiracy is 100% now for us last year. All cause why, Cam dabbed and the Panthers dabbed? Gtfoh and JR not doing poo about it

I think it will take longer than many think.  Remember, nobody is going full out during preseason.  And the team is not fully opening their playbook until the real games start.  Neither is he playing a full game until then.  I'd just rather we don't play NE until he is comfortable.

I was going to say I don't see why they would pick us over the Chargers, but they will probably save the Chargers return to LA for MNF.

I'm 95% sure it will be us.  Chiefs are a better team than us until we prove otherwise, but we have Cam Newton.  The only other team would be the Texans, but they would only do that if they knew Romo was going to be with them.  And by the time it happens, it could be too late.  Even if the schedule wasn't out, switching even just one game would make a lot of other stuff have to change.

It would be totally unfair to put us on the road vs the champs 2 years in a row to open the season.

Hey didn't u know the NFL hates us. Look at both Super Bowls. Kasey kicks kickoff out of bounds and gives it to the Patriots. And then they want to see Manning ride off into sunset with 2 Super Bowls. I would say we should have won both but thanks to the NFL we didn't!!!!!!

Can't tell if sarcasm?

Pats were going to get the ball after the kickoff anyways, but rule if it goes out of bounds they get it on the 40. We still could have stopped them from scoring but we didn't.

There was some "interesting" officiating in SB50 (it was a catch) but I'm not sure how much difference a few calls would have made with our poor game planning and execution.

Why would a 6-10, and for all intents and purposes, bad Panthers team be an appealing season kickoff matchup?

Cam.

Pretty much this.

That's why I'm positive the Panthers will open the season against the Patriots. Brady is a star and I highly doubt the NFL would want Alex Smith (who has NO star power at all) as the opposing QB for the season opener.

We need to hope Romo goes to the Texans
