Howard to Panthers at #8

I don't think they'd be drafting Howard to replace Olsen. Olsen has a lot of years left in the tank. Howard allows us to run a 2 TE set as our base offense, which means he could contribute as both a blocker and a pass-catcher.

Yeah we're going to use him right away, but eventually he would replace Olsen.

He has the ability to potentially fill several needs at once and long term. I think gentleman sees the value in that type of player and would take that into consideration. This draft is fairly weak at Oline, so he may be as much help as any guy we could get in the draft to help in that regard.

Exactly. Our biggest needs are WR and OT, but since there aren't any players in those positions worth taking at #8, Howard is someone who could help out both roles.
