Great a small school OL...

Can't believe we went with three offensive picks first with how deep this freaking draft is at DB and DE.

Didn't yet grab a pass rusher, DB, or TE and that pisses me off. Hope Morton works out of course and we could still get a good pass rusher as a lot are still available but wow. It's all on Shula now.

you just argued for why we haven't

Definetly need to pick up a TE in the 3rd round,  I would move up!

Is he an OT or is this a sign that we don't think we can retain both Turner and Norwell? Either way, we needed OL depth. Never a big fan of small school OL picks, but we shall see.

I would just call him competition ATM. You can't let those guys up front get too comfortable.

Gettleman wouldn't take an OT in the 2nd if he didn't believe he had starter potential. So I'm ok with it. Plus the kid has position flexibility (as seems to be a requirement with us), as he can play guard too. Depth on the O-line is needed and always welcome.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
